Yes, the lag is starting for me after a few minutes of playing on every server also. Strange thing.

A lot of reports of lag in squads and on teamspeak
I dont think it's the TG server
client restart seems to fix it
I think its EA master server or punkbuster (probably pb)
so if you get lag, then come out the game to desktop, then reboot and back in on TG server

Ya restarting the client appears to work but the lag is random for me sometimes it starts after 5 minutes sometimes 30. And Silver is probably right about it being PB, I hope that EA is aware of the problem.

I was just looking around on the EA 2142 forums and someone said that the same thing that is happening now happened right before the 1.5 patch... So maybe 1.51 is coming sooner than expected ?

One thing I noticed was that it took a long time for me to connect to the master server when I got on last night, like 30 seconds or so instead of the usual 3. I think it's definitely a problem on EA's side.

I played last night for the first time since October. I thought the repetitive lag pauses were on my end. I'm glad to hear its not an isolated incident.

I was thinking, if this lag continues, would it be possible to set up a hamachi (thanks fruvous) network, and play through co-op. Not ranked though, but it works I guess...

I was pretty dissapointed to experience this Saturday night after not having had time to play for awhile.

But I found a way to fix the problem! I loaded up vanilla Battlefield 2 and went and killed me some enemies anyway!

Ya its ridiculous. I cant believe how bad the lag is. I'd load up bf2 if it would start. Ever sense I patched it to 1.5 or so, what ever the newest patch is, it just wont start. But that's for a different forum.

I'm sure glad that this open thread (that anyone with a forum account can post in) is discussing the lag issue.

A Hamatchi set up is not a viable idea, it starts to lag even worse with too much load and has a limited number of people that can use the same network.

As widespread as it is, this is either master server, punkbuster, or gamespy server related issue. Obviously all of those things are out of our hands, so its a waiting game at this point.

Dang I love posting in non-private open threads where anyone can have a discussion!
