    Can't get into certain maps?

    Once again, I have encountered a problem that I cant fix. When I try to enter into maps like care-bear, I will click the 'join server' button and instead of a magical experience on TG, I get a message that tells me that "This map contains custom content, the map creator might have more information at the community site." Would anyone happen to know what causes this? Also a remedy to this problem would be sooooo greatly appreciated.

    you sure you have the latest version? Thats all that i could think of that would do that to you... maybe try reinstalling last update?

    Depending on the OS that you use this is a known issue.

    For Widows Vista users, this is a know issue. Generally all you need to do is reload the server and you should be good to go. It may look a little funny when you load, but it works.

    This is caused by the game being created for XP, and it not being 100% Vista compatible. There is some kind of pathing issue when it unzips the maps.

    To limit this. Make sure you are running 2142 as an Admin on your computer, and that you have Windows compatibility selected to XP.

    If you are not running Vista but still having this issue, it is possible that you corrupted your install. Ether by incorrectly installing a Mod, or just by dumb luck. A full reinstall should take care of this.

    This needs moving..

    I get this on odd occassions. If your getting it all the time, then the game things something is wrong, and reinstall may be only option.

    The odd thing is that this continued happening to me even after the uninstall/reinstall. Even when I continually click on the thing to join the server, it won't work. My operating system is Mac OS X.

    ahhh, now we know it's a mac issue. This info helps at the start most times.

    So you've reinstalled and patched up. Did you update punkbuster?

    I know macs have their own set of issues, but why should the same error show in Mac as it does in Vista? I am not saying that the same issues exist, but are we talking about the same error and does that mean the treatment is accomplished in a relatively similar way?
