    Windows 7 32bit and bf2142

    I just got my laptop back from the shop and completely reformatted my computer which came loaded with windows vista. I upgraded my vista to windows 7 thru microsoft's whole windows 7 promotional thing for students.

    I bought the bf2142 deluxe edition PC-Download and downloaded ea download manager and downloaded everything and installed everything as should be. Then when i hit 'play' on the EADM for bf2142 the screen turns black (as it should) but then before anything else shows up, windows 7 gives me an error message that states:

    "bf2142.exe has stopped working"

    Then closes on me. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling. I tried downloading a fresh bf2142 from EADM and installing that. I tried running it as admin. Now i'm sortof stuck. I guess I could try redownloading EADM and see if that works but I doubt it will.

    Do you have it set to run as administrator?

    No i just right click on the shortcut and click 'run as admin'.

    yeah, right click on it and go to properties and you can set it to run as an administrator all the time under the compatibility mode tab.

    If that doesn't work I'd try updating you video card and sound card drivers, as that could cause an issue also.

    Oooo good call. I checked my device manager and saw that my display adapter wasn't the nvidia graphics card that i should have had. I updated the driver and i think it works fine now. Thanks Smachin007 you da best!

    Ah! Maybe I should try that I got exactly the same problem.. But to my defence.. I let someone else switch my gpu since I didn't have the time to do it myself.

    I just realized what a poor defence that is:/

    If it works I'm gonna make sweet loving with you Smachin otherwise I'm just having a crush on you, but that's a secret ok!?
