VoIP
I've been having trouble with VoIP in 2142 lately. I log in to VoIP servers, and sometimes I can hear people, but they can't hear me, even tho when I hit "V" I see the green 'talking' icon up there.
Rinso told me to check my audio settings to see if my mic was muted, and sure enough it was, but it still did that after I restarted my computer. I even checked the audio options in 2142 and tested my mic, and I can hear myself.
After this, I logged back in again, and I couldn't talk again. I played for 5 minutes then saw my VoIP thing was green in the squad menu, so I tried and I could use it again! Hooray!
Then after 10 minutes of play my computer locked up utterly and squelched high pitched noises at me until I gave it the hard turn off. I haven't logged back into 2142 again since. Any ideas?

Re: VoIP
What are your system specs and the settings you have for 2142?
Maybe you could try turning down the audio performance.

Re: VoIP
Thanks for the reply, but I think I have it fixed. I muted the mic from Audigy in XP and 2142 picks it up just fine. I also disconnected my regular speakers and am just playing with the headphones.

Re: VoIP
I assume you muted the MIC Line on the 'playback' side of the volume control and not the 'recording' side. If you muted the recording side then your MIC wouldn't work at all, since you muted the recording. But you muted the playback, or feedback of what you say into the mic. Maybe your system was having issues with the feedback and so muting that feedback help you. Hopefully you have no more issues!
