Getting on
Nice work on the server!
I have a couple questions for the admins. Why are there brackets with a number in them in the game browser next to server player count? In BF2 it was for reserved slots, since ea is not allowing reserved slots. What purpose does it serve? : 48/48 (0) Also, would it be acceptable to use the in game browser buddy message system to ask an admin if they could let you in? For people that can't use teamspeak and viop at the same time. By the time teamspeak is closed and the game starts up that slot may be filled. Thanx |

Re: Getting on
Our custom reserved slot system is not supported, but the built-in system still is. That's what the numbers indicate. We do not implement that system because it requires you hold those slots open permanently, which is impractical for our needs.
You can certainly try the buddy system, but I can't vouch for its reliability. Plus, during the week you'll find it's mostly me providing the slots and I am not in-game at those times. People are welcome to IM me to request slots if they wish. |

Re: Getting on
Thanks, I may have to try to IM. Or try again to solve the teamspeak problem. This is inconvenient for the players maybe once or twice a night. The admins have to deal with this all night long. I hate EA. I would like to think this is an implementation of some kind of interpretation of fairness. But my better instincts are telling me this is about being able to control the servers so they can put up there stupid ads. Maybe Quake Wars will put them in there place.

Re: Getting on
It's about getting paid. EA controls the ranked servers so no one else can run them for free. EA gets a cut from every hosted rank server out there.
I'm keeping an eye on Quake Wars. It looks very interesting. BTW, What sound card do you use? If you really want to solve the TS issue, you could buy a new sound card. I never had TS issues with my Audigy or X-Fi and I'm pretty sure it's the sound drivers that are causing the issue.

Re: Getting on
I have a separate sound card for TeamSpeak. It's something to consider since you can mute game sounds to talk over TS. It's a pretty good setup unless you like using headphones.

Re: Getting on
That reminds me, I need to bind my mute on and off for TS before I get back on. I forgot how much chatter can go on asking for slots when an automated system doesn't exist
