G15 or Nostromo N52
Does anyone have any profiles they are willing to share for wither of these two devices. Right now straight keyboard seems the way to go, but I have a Nostromo N52 and was thinking of using it, but you cannot find any profiles out there easily. Any help is appreciated...

I have and use both. the ability to see TS on the led makes the G15 nice not to mention the 18 programable keys. But for serious combat in AA. I luv how the N52 puts every thing in instant reach. If you can only Have one I would say go for the N52 priced aroun $40 you get much more bang for your buck.

Re: G15 or Nostromo N52
I've had a n52 for years, since around when it first came out, and I had the n50 before that. I never game without it! Can't find profiles? Make your own! It's easy. Most of the time you probably won't like how other people customized theirs, anyway

But, to get you started, here is my BF2142 profile. It's still new, so it isn't perfect, and I haven't spent any time setting up for vehicles.Telorn

Re: G15 or Nostromo N52
I have an n52 which I really think is a great product. However, I find that there aren't enough keys which makes me reach for the keyboard to perform various tasks which is very inconvenient since I have it shoved out of the way to make room for the n52, joystick, trackball, etc... I haven't actually tried setting it up for 2142 but I was using it for 1942 and BF2 and it just seemed there weren't enough keys (admittedly I may not be utilizing the macros and such to the utmost efficiency). Anyway, I really like the product otherwise, just posting this thread has got me thinking about pulling it out and dusting it off.

Re: G15 or Nostromo N52
inferno493,
You need to learn how to use the mode function. You have a RED, GREEN, BLUE mode and each mode can program a key differently. For isntance, I set RED in toggle mode (as in I hit the red button and it changes to RED and doesn't change back until I hit the button again) for vehicle specific keys (F1, F2, X, etc...) and I set GREEN as momentary for the higher weapon keys I can't fit on the regular mode (knife, grenades, etc...).
You take the time to set a profile properly and you'll never have to touch that keyboard. The n52 has the potential to have about (though not practical) 80 unique keys.Telorn

Ya, it took me a good 5 days to set up my CS:S profile, and I still tweak it now and again to add things that I require... (Tossing guns/kits can be a hassle)

Re: G15 or Nostromo N52
Thanks all for your help. Yes I have both and love my N52... I was just wondering where to start, everytime I put a profile together I hate it. I was really just wonderng what everyone else was using. Like I was saying I put a profile together and think "oh that would work right there" then you get ganked a couple of times and then I realize "oh it doesn't really work that well..." I wanted to thank all of you for your input and especially the guys that gave me some starting points.

It stays in the mode you set it to for as long as you hold the button down. Once you let it go it'll go back to the regular mode. Just right-click on any button you want to set up and select the mode you want to set the button to. I don't recall exactly what the profile editor calls the momentary vs toggle, but you'll figure it out.

Re: G15 or Nostromo N52
Telorn, have you managed to tweak your n52 profile for vehicles as well and have an updated profile to share? Sorry to ask but some greater entity has decided that I was never meant to program profiles, I just can't do it to save my life and therefore am asking for your kind help. I tried using the one you posted and ended messing it up completely when tying to add some functions.

Re: G15 or Nostromo N52
i've got a profile for the n52 if you want that. i try not to use shifts though because in the game i get really caught up.
anyway, if you want mine let me know.
n52 = awesome. i had the n50, but i only played one game with that because in most fps (bf included) you need more buttons than that. n52 meets that need.
i don't have anything programmed to my g15 yet though

Re: G15 or Nostromo N52
Agreed. I don't have the G15 (I'm trying to stave off carpal tunnel syndrome by using the MS Natural keyboard), but I have an N52, and I LOVE IT. It makes it so that I don't have to fiddle with the default key settings at all, and it also puts everything that I use most within quick reach. Like, I don't use knife or pistol much, if at all, so I have those mapped to the off-direction keys on the d-pad, and items 3-6 on the N,S,E,W keys on the d-pad. I also have voice-comm where I want it as well.
I can give you my profile if you'd like. I find it to be set-up just right the way I like it.|TG-Irr|Hiram_Yorik
