TeamSpeak and ingame VoIP

Okay, this has been bothering me since I reinstalled TS and began using it coincidily with 2142. My ingame VoIP becomes staticy when I have TS prog running (both PTT binds are on seperate keys). And since about last week, I have been going without TS on when I'm on playing. But it is becoming a burden, since it is really hard to report problems to Jepzilla without TS on ingame.

I can't seem to figure out what is wrong, my only conclusion is that BF2142 once again (like it's predecessor) seems to hate certain lower end hardware configurations. I really hope that my conclusion is unfounded.

For some tech background and such...

I use a desktop microphone which is connected to my MIC IN input on my SB Audigy LS (5.1).
I also have onboard sound chipset, which I do not and will not disable, since most onboard BIOS settings and such with regards to onboard chipsets (sound and video) are not reversible once I have disabled them, unless I reflash my BIOS (which is a pain).
I have tried adjusting volume inputs and such both using the ingame settings and windows/creative CP settings, but no luck.
I have the latest audio drivers for my sound card.

I do not have this problem with Ventrilo and games, just TS and some games.

Okay, what do I do to fix this problem (if it can be fixed)?

P.S. Sorry if I'm rambling, it's 4:17 AM, I've been racking my brain studying for finals, working on papers, projects and such, because I have finals in like another week.

Re: TeamSpeak and ingame VoIP

Is your onboard sound activated but not being used at all?

You could try using onboard sound just for mic input. Set your Windows sound recording device to your onboard sound and 2142 will use that as your mic input. Do the same in TS in Settings|Options. It could be the Audigy that's having problems with TS and certain games.

Re: TeamSpeak and ingame VoIP

Hmm, well like most motherboards, after you have plugged another internal sound card into one of the PCI slots, onboard sound is automatically soft-disabled (removing the PCI sound card allows you to use onboard sound again). Windows puts a (!) mark next to my onboard sound chipset in Device Manager, because I have my Audigy plugged in.

Now that I think back on it, the only games I've had this problem was with the BF series. I can't think of having this problem with other games.

Is anyone else having this issue (I've read around that some of you that have the X-Fi also have a similiar problem)? For those of you on the X-Fi card and have had this issue and was resolved, how did you resolve it? Is there some other solution other than reverting back to my onboard sound?

Re: TeamSpeak and ingame VoIP

You can try getting onboard sound working together with your sound card. I have my Game Theater XP working with onboard sound and a Bluetooth headset. It's just another sound device and WinXP is pretty good at handling resources.

You can also try changing TS to use DirectX or Wave depending on what it's set now.
