Thoughts on MX518?

Do yall think that's a good mouse? Or should I look at the Razer copperhead?

I think I like the Logitech. How does the sensitivity changing work? Is it controlled by the + and - buttons, or do those do the same as the wheel?

Also, thoughts on actual mouse pads? We've got one w/ blue water droplet pictures, and I'm sure it's messing up the optical mouse that we use. What should I look for in a mouse pad for an optical mouse?

Thanks.

My girl gets that mousepad glitch. I suggest a solid color. Any solid color.

Thanks.
The +- buttons by the wheel. I have that mouse. I like it. I use XPs native driver, not the Logitech (just my preference).

Just my 2 cents...

I have a Razer Diamondback (the Copperhead's older brother) and love it. I think both are excellent as far as performance, it's just which ever is more comfortable for you.

Re: Thoughts on MX518?

I have the MX518 and I love it. Mostly because of the two thumb buttons and changing the sensitivity on the fly. For 2142 I have my main weapon and grenades mapped to the thumb buttons, very handy in a tight situation.

Re: Thoughts on MX518?

G5 is the way to go. I've used the MX518 and the copperhead, and the G5 comes out on top. It only has one thumb button, but that's really never been a problem.

Re: Thoughts on MX518?

I have the G5 which is very similar and I love it. I have the thumb button set to pistol which is really convienent. I like to turn my sensativity up when I am flying the gunship and turn it down when I am the gunner in the walker. For everything else I use the middle setting.

I am going to have to look into this. I like the idea of changing the sensivity on the fly. Especially in a FPS game.

Great when switching from ground pounding to a gunner/turret position; swing that turret baby!

Re: Thoughts on MX518?

It also slides really well. If I am not careful I could send it flying off the edge of my desk.

Re: Thoughts on MX518?

Great info, everyone, especially the esreality.com site. I'm going to get the mx518 because I want the two buttons.

Thanks!

Re: Thoughts on MX518?

I use the 518 and I'm happy with it. I prefer Logi because their mice tend to be large which helps me because I have big hands. The Razor tend to be lower in height and not as big so I dont like them. Plus the Razor are MUCH higher dpi than logi which doesn't help me at all since I play with low sensitivity, around .2 to .3 sensitivy for bf2142 and .2 for cs 1.6

Re: Thoughts on MX518?

i like to turn the dpi WAY up when i use the rail gun. It turns so darn slow otherwise.

Re: Thoughts on MX518?

I had the G5 (which I love) and I just got the MX518 from a guy who said he didn't like it because it was too big for is hands. I like the middle mouse button much better on the 518 because it is easier to push and I also like the two thumb buttons.
