Fraps and recording sound...
Ok, whenever I record any game using Fraps, the sound comes out all weird and doesn't sound nice at all
![]() Does anyone know what I can do to get the sound to play back just normal. (When I select "Use Windows input", it gives me no sound at all, so this happens when I select "Detect best sound input") Thx in advance ![]()

Re: Fraps and recording sound...
Using a Creative card? Someone is screwed up so the "What U Hear" input sounds crappy when in-game. It records fine when I use stereo mix on my on-board sound.

Re: Fraps and recording sound...
How do I set it to use the Stereo Mix?
Edit: When I select "Detect best sound input", it says Stereo Mix in the field (Fraps) but this is when the sound is so crap...

Re: Fraps and recording sound...
Yeah, I know how to make fraps record my own voice and the ingame sounds,m it's just that these sounds are completely messed up and sound just horrible...
Edit: Since I can now post links, here's a sample of what I mean: Sample (1.07 MB)

Re: Fraps and recording sound...
Same as me, this is motherboard soundchip.
Get the latest driver out this month. Sounds messed up eh. when you record does the sound quality go down while playing as well as after in the video. Or is the gaming sound still ok ingame but the fraps recording is bad. If its the latter then I would sugget checking you have the latest version of fraps and EAX is turned off.

Re: Fraps and recording sound...
I have the latest version of fraps, I'll try the EAX thingy now. Getting the latest driver as well (just realized I don't have the latest :S )
Ahem, could you link me to the right driver download site, I'm always worried that I install the wrong one ![]()
