Problem playing NS

Hi, I know it's been a really long time since I've played or spoken here, but I hope you can still help me out.

I bought and downloaded Northern Strike on EA Link the day before it came out (and then had to wait 21 hours for it to be released). In My Games, it shows NS there but, when I click on the blue arrow next to "Ready to Play", EA Link minimizes to the task bar, and the game never starts. This is very odd, so I looked for help on the EA Link and it said to try reinstalling the game under Add or Remove programs. I looked there and found something even more bizarre:

Immediately after Battlefield 2142 is on the list in Add or Remove Programs (probably right where Northern Strike would normally appear) is a HUGE black space. After the black space is the rest of my programs starting at the letter "C". I tried looking all over online to see if there was anyone with a similar problem, and all I found were unanswered posts. I looked on here and saw someone fixed a different problem by reinstalling EA Link, so I tried that, but it didn't work for me.

So, here I am, trying to play Northern Strike, but it doesn't ever load up, and doesn't appear on Add or Remove Programs; instead is a GIGANTIC black space (takes up 7/8+ of the scroll bar). If anyone has any idea on how to go about fixing this, that would be greatly appreciated.

So do you mean you don't have NS on your computer or doesn't it start up? Because if the problem is it won't startup the answer is really easy: just click on the common BF 2142 shortcut and just join a NS server from your server browser. (NS is not a stand-alone expansion so you'll just have to join a NS server from your common server browser - there is no unique shortcut for Northern Strike) And by 'it doesn't ever load up', do you mean the NS maps won't load up or the game won't? (when you try to launch it from EA link)

First: to clear things up, I meant that NS simply wouldn't start up when I clicked on "Ready to Play".

Thanks much, because I didn't know it was that kind of an expansion. I'll try going on the TG NS server and see how that works.
