My highest setting acts like my lowest setting, and everything below that is useless. After a longer period of time, everything will go back to normal, and then screw up again.

So, I've found these ways to get it back to normal. All, however, are just temporary and eventually it'll act up again.
alt-tab out of game and then alt-tab back.
press my second thumb button. (the closest one does not fix my issue)

So, it's a software issue, but I don't know where. All my drivers are updated and as far as I know, this is the only game it does it on. Any ideas guys?
Sorry, just saw this post.

I had this issue only when the Logitech software was running in the background and somehow refreshed or reset itself. Try killing the Logitech software that runs in the system tray and see what happens. Also, make sure you only have one version of the Logitech software installed as Hidus suggested...

Wheel Button Setup on Logitech G5 Mouse

How do you set up the left and right wheel buttons for Logitech G5 in 2142???
Regular click-and-set method does not work.

The problem is that if I don't have the software running, my key bindings don't work.

See above: set key bindings in the software, but then you'll have my problem.

Re: G5 Mouse: Lack of Buttons In-Game

Thats odd Boulder, did you try setting the bindings manually in the config with the software off? Also, does the mouse operate as it should with the software off outside the game?

I was having major issues with the logitech setpoint software and various games I play, so I shut it off and everything works like a dream now. Just gotta make sure the drivers stay up to date on my own cause I dont have the software autochecking for me.

Do that user.xml thing I posted last about and your thumb buttons should work with no problem with setpoint on during games..

Thats if you have the Blue G5 with 2 thumbbuttons

I looked through that thread and just haven't had time to fool with it. I didn't see mention of the tilt buttons working though. I really need those because they are linked to my grenades and pistol. This is driving me bonkers.

Logitech G5 - keys won't bind

I know there is a similar post here in the forum. My situation is this, I got the G5 mouse (rust) and basically I can not get the left and right tilt to bind in the game. The thumb button will bind to the v key and works great for talking. I have updated the drivers to the latest version from logitech. All that did was make the dpi behave irratic, like mentioned in the other post. So I went back and installed the older version that came with the mouse, it seems more stable.
I have tried to use the set point software to bind the keys but that doesn't seem to work. I think I am doing it correctly. There is a part in set point where you have to add the BF2142.exe file and I've done that. I am able to change the buttons for normal browsing and it works fine. Anybody else having this problem and have you found a fix?

Re: G5 Mouse: Lack of Buttons In-Game

I never got the software to realize what exe was in use so I just updated the default profile with the keybinds I would like to use (if I ever remembered to use them that is).

For instance, in the logitech software, change tilt left from "Left Scroll" to "Keystroke Assignment" and set the keystroke to something like "3". Do the same for "Right Scroll" and you should be good to go.

One thing I have not been able to do is get the left or right tilt to activate TeamSpeak's push to talk, not sure why...

Have you tried assigning a key to TS and then assigning the tilt to that keystroke?

E.G:

Right Alt = Talk in TS.
Assign Right Tilt to Right Alt.

Yup. TS is the only thing that refuses to listen to the tilt keybinds...

Re: G5 Mouse: Lack of Buttons In-Game

Lorax your suggesttion worked partially. The right tilt is bound to the 3 key, but left tilt is not binding to the number I assign. I wish I didn't have to do it that way because I wanted to use those buttons for other things in my normal browsing. Seems like EA or Logitech would square these issues away. It would be mutually benificial. Oh well I will keep playing with it. Thanks for the help

Before I offer any more advice, it would be easier if you were to give more detail about what you are trying to bind and where - there may be other avenues we could try...

Re: G5 Mouse: Lack of Buttons In-Game

It's pretty straight forward. The right tilt is bound to 3. Left tilt is bound to 6. I know that they are bound because when I test them outside BF2142 I get 3's and 6's. When I am in the game the right tilt is working but the left is not. The thumb bound to v within BF2142 and is working fine.
Outside the game I was hoping to use the right tilt as a foward button, but that is no biggie. The thumb button is currently working as the back button.
