Broken VOIP symbol

Recently when I press V for VOIP instead of a green speaker symbol appearing on the right side of the screen I get a yellow symbol with a broken line through it. The mic checks I have asked for have always come back positive. Any ideas?

Usually means your voice is cracking up due to too loud input.

Yes I have had this happen alot of times before too. The solution is very simple: just place the mic further away from your mouth or tweak your mic settings a bit.

This nearly always happens for me I hardly ever get the green symbol but no one complains about not being able to hear me and then answer me aswell. So... Does it actually make that much difference?

The game is detecting too much audio clipping from your mic. It's set to be "too loud".

Oh, i have trouble with this all the time when I'm not wearing headphones due to the mic picking up the sound from the speakers (i got an internal mic).

I got that symbol all the time, so I moved my mic away until I got the green one but everyone complained that they couldn't hear me, so I just moved it back again.

Silly question...
The V option is to speak to the commander...Isn't it always Yellow?

Mine has always been yellow on the rare occasions I've used it. The B for squad commo is always green.

I believe it will also pop up if the game detects no sound from the mic. I accidentally had the mic muted a couple days ago and I kept getting it until someone pointed out that they couldnt hear me and I unmuted. Then it was green city.

It's actually the opposite. V is to talk to your squad and B is to talk to the CO.

Mine is always yellow, I'll have to ask if mine is too loud or breaking up next round.
