W'sup everyone,

First I would like to say that I have joined your server(s) before and found it to be some of the best rounds or war in 2142. I always like a challenge, and there are often times really good gamers in there. Here I would like to ask two questions as well, one server related, one simply game related.

For the game related, I have a rank issue, more specifically, I have stopped ranking up. My points are something past 91,000 and my last rank is brigadier general. The last unlock earned by rank up was somewhere around 70,000 or so, and it had me choosing my last piece of vanilla unlock. My rank bar no longer fills up at this point, so I was curious if anyone here might have an understanding about this. Upon getting northern strike I of course have earned some more unlocks, but no rank. I'm not particularly worried about what my rank is, I just play for fun, but I suppose I'd rather see where I'm supposed to be anyways.

As for server related, I was playing on one of your servers with a 48 player maximum, and had a great squad. I was kicked from the server, and upon viewing your site I assumed it was to make room for a supporting member. This is fine, I understand, that is if it's the case. Yesterday I attempted to join when there was more than 2 slots open reserved, and I received the error kick again. It lists me as being kicked for excessive teamkilling by admin decision. I assure you I do no such thing, although it happens from time to time by accident from a frag grenade. My score was very high a few rounds, and I owe it to good teamwork as much as effort, but I wanted to be sure I wasn't booted because I was doing so well. By well I mean 25+ kills and only a few deaths. I killed quite a few TG tagged members that I can remember, and I'm not sure if I was kicked out because of that. Anyways, hopefully not, because I indeed enjoy the challenge and teamwork I have found on your server and would like to be able to join up again.

Welcome Fat. You will notice that when the server is full it will read 46 (48). There are two reserved slots for our squad program to work. The standard message when you attempt to join a game that is full is the Team Killing message you received. Don't worry, you just have to keep at it to get into the game; or become a supporting member. You'll learn all this by reading the rules and regulations on the main forum Glad to have you and get cracking on those rules!

Firstly, welcome to TG.

For your rank question, the next couple of ranks cannot be archived solely on the summation of points. You have to be in a certain percentile in your country to get the rank of Major General. I think it's 10% or 5%. Then EA randomly assigns it to you.

If you don't want to read (although you should) you're getting kicked because the server is full. For the reserved slot to work, the server is full at 46/48. The message is just generic and connot be changed.

Thanks for the welcome guys, and I was sure to read the faq before posting, as I might imagine it's annoying for you guys to have to repeat yourselves. When I attempted to join yesterday it listed 3 open slots, but perhaps I only looked at my faves when I joined and that doesn't tend to refresh. I have to click the info button to more accurately check for amount of players it seems. It's good to know about the tk info, as it can be a bum deal when people accuse you of cheating when you simply put forth the effort with tactics and teamwork to earn a good score.

I was unaware about the percentile regarding rank, thanks for that info, I had been curious about it.

Eh, dont sweat tk's too much. Just be sure and apologize if it does happen. The message when getting booted for someone with a reserved slot is the stupid 2142 default which cant be changed. Chances are, unless you're running around intentionally tking your team and doing nothing else, you wont get TK kicked.

As far as the ranking up thing goes, i'm pretty sure that EA still has 2 or 3 billion bugs in the system, seeing as half the time points, unlocks, and ranks dont register. I wouldnt sweat it too much if you already have all the unlocks you need. You should be in good shape for just about any situation.

Yea I'm not sweatin' the rank thing, it just had me curious why I wasn't going up anymore. I've got all the toys I really need, only 4 of the ns unlocks left and aside from the extended stealth I don't even really want them especially. Thx for another welcome. My immediate fam actually lives in orlando, I used to live there too before moving to NC.

You might have joined while other people where in joining mode. Those joining at the same time as you does not show up in the serverpopulation. That would lead to the situation you are describing.

Example:
Servepopulation is 44.
3 people are joining.
The last of the three who reaches the weapons selection menu will be kicked to keep the slots open.

I personally found that the easiest way to avoid being kicked from the server was to become a supporting member. Now I don't even look at the population, just click and join!
