Re: getting kicked for high ping

kbps is not ping. Your ping (latency) is 219, but can change from server to server, your kbps is your bandwidth (most likely anything from 512kbps and higher).

Generally, the closer you are to the server, the lower your ping. Servers in the US will result in a high ping due to distance. Some will kick for high ping. The TG servers do not.

If you want to play with low ping, try Internode or GameArena servers. Look for them using advanced search or just sorting by latency in quick search.

Re: getting kicked for high ping

I dont think we have anything on the server that would kick you for high ping. I played a full 2+ hours yesterday with close to a 300 ping and didnt get booted. We also have a couple members from australia around here that you might want to check with to see how they handle their connections, they might have some tweaks for you.

As far as diagnosing any other problems, aside from mega-lag, your system might not be up to spec for the game. Post your system config and i'm sure we can give you some pointers as to anywhere else you might have potential problems.

Other than that, welcome to TG! Sorry your first post had to be technical problems, but perhaps we can get that all sorted out.

Question Re: getting kicked for high ping

thanks for responding ,i know kbps is bandwith i put my speed down to see if that was causing me to get high ping due to low speed . and i'm sorry but it was other 2142 servers booting me for high ping which i thought wasn't high .

Re: getting kicked for high ping

Like Bom said, if you're trying to get low pings, then you can't really play on any American servers because there's really no way you can get yourself close enough to the server to make a significant dent in your ping.

I'm sure that Bommando will tell you that playing with pings that high is like trying to bludgeon your foe with a rock and doesn't do much to improve the fun of the game. I'm pretty sure that the reason Bom plays on our servers so much is that we're the only people who will let him yell at us.
