Question about TeamSpeak

I have never used Teamspeak and have a couple of questions. Do you use TS to communicate within your in game squads or is that done mostly with the VoIP in game system? Can you use both at the same time so non TS squadmates still are able to communicate with their squadmates? Not really sure how the whole TS system works and I sure don't expect anyone to break the whole thing down for me but if somebody could give me the TS for dummies cliffnotes version that would be great. I have downloaded TS and have it set up on my gaming rig with TG's TS server but have not used it as of yet. Thanks for the info.

Re: Question about Teamspeak

Teamspeak is mainly used for reporting infractions and in scrimmages. It is also used to communicate between squads, altough I haven't seen this happen yet. Communicating with squad is always done over the common bf 2142 VoIP system. But if you like you can of course communicate with your TG squaddies during the game, but I don't see the purpose of this when you have the good 'ol VoIP.
Another way to use teamspeak is for chatting and communicating while pub-raiding. (since some servers don't support VoIP) This is about all the stuff I can think of where teamspeak is being used for.

Re: Question about Teamspeak

I just use it incase there is a infraction on the server, and hope an admin is on. There might be the odd comment durring a round, but nothing major. Not being on teamspeak doesnt help and it doesnt hurt.

Re: Question about Teamspeak

the 3rd often uses our inhouse teamspeak chan to communicate orders if we are running more than a single squad on the same team. if we are on opposite teams we use it to taunt the guys on the other team. we also use it to determine who will lead the squad next game.

in general, it is used more for social interaction than tactical information.

Re: Question about Teamspeak

I encourage all players to be on teamspeak to reach an admin. If something goes wrong and you need an admin and you're not on TS then you don't get to complain.
