Game Crash / Freeze on Map Load - Page 4

I had the same problem, reinstalling worked for me.

Aye, many a thread has been made with solutions on how to fix this stupid issue. Check 'em out and good luck, I gotta reinstall this weekend, froze up last night, only my 2nd time, though I know others who've done it like 4 or more times.

I've had this happen three times already and have had to reinstall 2142 each time... very frustrating.

yep, happen to me just a few weeks ago. Loads halfway and then stops. Complete uninstall/reinstall worked for me. Install 2142, 1.25 patch, northern strike, then 1.25 patch again. I don't know why but that seems to be the best order.

Hey guys! Yes i'm still alive. Been playing another game as of late. Anyway, I've been trying to get on the server. The first time i logged into the Titan server just fine, and played about 3 minutes before the server crashed. Then i tried going to the conquest server and halfway through the map load, the game stops responding and i have to Ctrl + Alt + Del out of the game.

But at least i got those two promotions I've been waiting for! (Rockets and Baur! WOOHOO!!!)

EDIT: it happens when i try loading up Singleplayer maps too.
I'm going to try rebooting to see if that clears it up.

You need to reinstall BF2142.

well, it's not a crash. it just stops responding. if it did crash, it would close out automatically and/or give me some sort of error message. And restarting does seem to resolve my issues (which are not the same as this poster's thats why I made a separate post). Anyway, it basically is giving me a hard time because of my system's lack of ability to keep itself cool.

EDIT: Okay, so maybe the to problems have a little more in common :/

BUT, i don't feel like reinstalling tonight, so i'll play BF2 PRM. I'll squad with ya some other time.
