Game Crash / Freeze on Map Load

Can anyone help me pls when the map is loading the game is treminated

OH Gr8 :s now another problem an error msg came "BF2124 Memory Error" and it say something about the memory is not sane or something

....

good news it worked wid the memory error msg but not wid the termination part

note : i just noticed its doing that only wid a certine map not all of them ... wid fall of b is good

Yeah, still crashes on certain maps for me to, but that's better then craashing on every map change.

Has anyone experienced this problem in just the last two days? Wednesday night; everything was fine. Thursday night: TG latency was bouncing from 75 to 375 without explanation. Then, in both single and multi mode, the game loads about 60% of a map and then locks up. Regardless of memory tricks, defrag, file cleanups, reboots, McAfee on/off, it still freezes at 60%. I haven't seen "Join Game" in two days...any ideas?

RJPoff im having the same problem, and its not related to TG at all since this happens regardless of which server it is. Its apparently a VERY widespread problem at the moment based on all the other forums ive been looking at. I load up to 50%, and then it locks up and the majority of the time i have to hard reboot.

Some people on another forum were linking it to some company called "savvis", though im not sure what they do for 2142. Either way, im really pissed off that i spent 50 bucks for this game only to have a widespread problem crop up with absolutely nothing said from EA or dice.

same deal for me. Working fine until yesterday. Map load freezes @ 75% on all maps, all modes. Have to force quit 2142 and it gives me some type of memory error 1/2 the time.

No patch. No statement. No nuttin'. Pretty ticked off.

<edit> reinstall fixed it...

Just started working again for me and i didnt change anything. Im sure itll come back though, knowing my luck.

I read this on a seperate forum:

CTRL/ALT/DEL and closed pnkbstra and b and loaded into PB active server without problems. Naturally I was kicked 15 seconds later for not having them running, which I expected.

reboot then join a server.

I was hoping to avoid a reinstall. The original game plus the current patch and you're talking an hour of downtime...

I was going to try the punkbuster technique but mine just started working too; with no changes...Hopefully the fix will stick...

Yep, this happened to me too, and after a little googling, found a fairly good solution:

The manual uninstall procedures for Battlefield 2142 is as follows.

To delete the configuration files and local copy of your account:

1. Double click on My Documents.
2. Right-click on the Battlefield 2142 folder and choose Delete.

To delete the game files (in the default location):

1. Open My Computer.
2. Open the Cdrive.
3. Open the Program Files folder.
4. Open the EA GAMES folder.
5. Right-click on the Battlefield 2142 folder and choose Delete.
6. Go to the following folder: C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information (If you cannot find this folder you may have to go to Tools > Folder Settings and click the setting to SHOW hidden folders.)
7. Right-click on the folder named {ED50ECE9-EC54-4C05-B5ED-EE4741A9F2EC} and choose Delete.
8. Close all open windows.
9. Right-click on the Recycle Bin and choose Empty Recycle Bin.

To edit the registry and remove Battlefield 2142:

1. Click on the Start button.
2. Click on Run.
3. Type regedit in the text field.
4. Click File and then choose Export.
5. Name the file Backup and make sure the Export Range is set to All.
6. Click Save; you will now be returned to the Registry Editor window.
7. Click the plus sign next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
8. Click the plus sign next to Software.
9. Click the plus sign next to EA GAMES.
10. Right-click on the Battlefield 2142 folder and choose Delete.
11. Back under Software, click the plus sign next to Electronic Arts.
12. Click the plus sign next to EA GAMES.
13. Right-click on the Battlefield 2142 folder and choose Delete.
14. Just above EA GAMES you will see a folder named EA CORE, click the plus sign next to EA CORE.
15. Click the plus sign next to INSTALLED GAMES.
16. Click the plus sign next to EA GAMES.
17. Right-click and choose Delete on any Battlefield 2142 folders.
18. Click the plus sign next to Microsoft.
19. Click the plus sign next to Windows.
20. Click the plus sign next to CurrentVersion.
21. Click the plus sign next to Uninstall.
22. Right-click on the key named {ED50ECE9-EC54-4C05-B5ED-EE4741A9F2EC} and choose Delete.
23. A Confirm Key Delete window will appear, choose Yes.
24. Close the WindowsRegistry Editor.

Battlefield 2142 is now completely removed from your system. Please reinstall the game and the patches in the following order:

1. Install Battlefield 2142
2. Install the 1.25 patch (http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg...?p_faqid=14204)
3. Install Northern Strike (if applicable)
4. Install the 1.25 patch again (http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg...?p_faqid=14204)

Hopefully after doing the above steps, the game should now work properly.
