Cleaning up your Battlerecorder List

When playing on Battlerecorder enabled Servers all day the list in the "Community" tab will grow larger and larger every day.

It came down to the point where I had to spend 10 seconds scrolling with the mousewheel to reach the bottom of the list. In the Community tab itself you can only delete them one by one which is very annoying.

If you want to have a fast and easy solution go to:

\My Documents\Battlefield 2142\Battlefield 2142\Profiles\0001

(0002 for your second soldier, 0003 and 0004 for your other two)

Open the file "DemoBookmarks" with a Text Editor. Each Battlerecorder log will begin with LocalProfile.addDemoBookmark and looks like this:

" LocalProfile.addDemoBookmark "SQUADPLAY All The Way" "fall_of_berlin" "http://www.ipdclan.com/bf2142-replays/demo/auto_2007_05_25_18_40_54.bf2142demo" 1180112192 "

Now you are free to delete all those old Bookmarks at once where the Demofile was deleted ages ago anyway.

Re: Cleaning up your Battlerecorder List

It's like playing a game of starcraft or warcraft 3 and saving the replay file at the end of the game for example. Except in this game the replay file is stored on the server hosting the game and it's up to you go and download it.

Re: Cleaning up your Battlerecorder List

I am totally impressed with the BR system. The only thing I don't like is not having a rewind capability. It is pretty hilarious to have a birds eye view of yourself getting gibbed!

Now if only I could have gotten the BR file of Pablo getting knifed. That would have made a nice video.

Re: Cleaning up your Battlerecorder List

Thanks for the tip. I don't have to spend 5 minutes just to delete all those files anymore. BR is awesome. It's the best way for someone to make a video that lags while using Fraps ingame.

People have asked about this for years. No game that has a replay feature has rewind. Why? Because it would make the file size really huge, and these are meant to be passed around easily on the net.

Re: Cleaning up your Battlerecorder List

The game always crashes whenever I try to watch one of my downloaded BR files. Any ideas why?
