Re: server down?

Most of the power in the datacenter has been restored, but there are still areas that are not coming back on-line. Some of our BF2 servers came back very quickly whereas others must be in the part of the datacenter that's not yet online.

They did say that some systems may go offline and come back online as they continue their work.

I just checked the Intellicast radar, and it looks like they're in for a bit more serious weather. So keep your fingers crossed!

Re: server down?

there was a massive hail and thunderstorm that rolled through the data center area around the time the servers went down.

Still waiting for a detailed description of what occurred, but that's the news I have right now.
Alrighty... just wanted to be sure that I wasn't going crazy or anything. Thanks for keeping us updated -- I know how bad those hailstorms can be (I'm a Midwestern storm chaser)

From the National Weather Service:

AT 705 PM EDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM 2 MILES NORTHEAST OF ARCOLA TO HILLANDALE... MOVING SOUTH AT 15 MPH.

THESE STORMS HAVE HAD A HISTORY OF PRODUCING PRODUCING LARGE HAIL
AND WIND GUSTS TO 50 MPH.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect for the area until 9 PM EDT this evening.

Re: server down?

Oh well, we can live for a day or so without the server. Some better than others

Re: server down?

You guys can play some PoE2 in the meantime!

You actually might enjoy it. It's a great mod.

Re: server down?

I have looked at several BF2142 servers that are hosted by Wolf and they are all down. My CSS server is in the same Data Center and is up which is odd. I live in VA by the Data center and yes we are getting some bad thunder storms.

Re: server down?

Astro, you are not the only one who has had some strong storms. I have not checked in the past twenty-four hours, but the whole East Coast area of the US is being watched for strong summer storms. I hope these new storms will not shut off the servers.

We have a number of servers in that same datacenter that are online. As I said previously. PARTS of the datacenter are currently without power, but a large portion of the datacenter has been brought back on-line. It's not that odd.
