Doesn't work that way. Even with the NS awards, there are 4 pieces of equipment left locked. THe only way to make these available to you is to get Field Upgrades by playing within a squad.
And on the TG server, 4 Field Upgrades take about as much time as it takes to capture the first flag

No I believe that it is equal. I have that last speeder ribbon that I have no desire to get and only one unlock left, the radar nade, of which I have even less of a desire to unlock. That stupid speeder ribbon involves trying to run people over.

40 vanilla unlocks earned through the 40 ranks.

10 NS ranks earned through the 6 NS badges and 4 NS ribbons.

No unlocks are locked even after all the SN awards and ranks.
