BF2142 Mouse Settings

So I moved into a new house the past few days, and after setting my pc up at home, found out I'd plugged the mouse into a different USB port. It did the whole 'new hardware' thing and is working fine. Except now my mouse settings in BF2142 are borked.

I got in-game, and my mouse was hyper-sensitive. I've also noticed a large discrepancy between the mouse speed in two in-game scenarios - the actual 'first person' view, and viewing the spawn points/kit selection.

What I have determined so far is that adjusting mouse sensitivity through the in-game options affects only the first person view mouse sensitivity. The kit selection is still crazy sensitive.

But, experiments with alt-tabbing I haven't found *any* way to bring that sensitivity down. Before the move I remember it being a lot less sensitive, and I also recall having my in-game sensitivity setting to 1 (I've had to bump it down to 0.5).

Basically what I've tried is alt-tabbing from inside the game, and adjusting mouse settings both through windows control panel, and also through my mouse's control pane (Razer Diamondback). Neither seems to quite have the effect I am looking for.

Anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

Re: BF2142 Mouse Settings

I have the razor diamand back and I'm ready to buy another mouse and I just got this one two weeks ago. My mouse setting always seem to 'get lost' and the mouse does what it wants. The side button settings I seem to lose everytime I close 2142. I went down to 6.0 for the drivers and config software and it seems to help out a bit. Which version are you running?

Are your mouses drivers and firmware fully up-to-date? Also what dpi are running at?

I eventually just got used to using high-dpi throughout the os and other applications.

Re: BF2142 Mouse Settings

Well, it kind of sucks. I have fixed one issue and have another. I removed all traces of the Razer from my system, then did a clean install. The sensitivity is fixed, but now my mapped buttons don't work. Very annoying, as that is where I have my teamspeak and VOIP mapped to.

Well, who'd gave thunk it. Turns out I needed to not only remove the drivers and do a clean install, but my clean install needed to be of the 5.09 version instead of the 6.0 or 6.02. The 'old' drivers have the buttons working again. Yay!

Woth a shot, Helix. I honestly really like the mouse. Issue free for me until I moved and updated drivers.

I love how weird things like this can happen all of a sudden. Your USB ports may be on different channels or something. Was it plugged into the back of the case before (the motherboard) and now plugged into the case?

With my mouse ( Logitech G7 ) i had the battery charger sitting in one of my frontside USB ports. I didnt like it sitting there, as it got in the way, and made it harder to find it when i needed a battery swap. So i moved it back to a port on the mobo, and then my side button mapping got killed, the DPI changer or whatever it is decide not to work, and the Setpoint program decided not to recognize a mouse existing. So i moved it back, and it works fine. If the cord wasnt so dang thick it would make my life easier, but its okay as is.

I wonder if there is something in my config that affects the way these mouse drivers perform. I tried all available drivers that I could from the site and searched for earlier versions and the most stable for me is 6.0 and it's still iffy. The only extra button I use on the mouse is number four and I have assigned that RCtrl and changed my prone key to RCtrl in game. Sometimes I can log in game and it works perfectly and sometimes it loses it's key assignment. I don't know. I love the mouse and everything about it but the drivers have been worthless for me thus far.
