|C1001 is code for orange in 2142

so if you create a custom squad and name it |C1001TG then the squad name will appear as TG

Some people have even used this code in their solidier name

I've heard EA doesn't want this happening or something, not sure why really.

Think the bug where a soldier won't have a name over their head is incredibly annoying though.

They would have a name over their head

if someone had a soldier name |C1001MrPilum
then in the kill messages MrPilum is in orange and the |C1001 is not seen

They can add it to their clan tag and get the same results. Plus it's reversible that way.

I've heard somewhere that the colored names can cause server instability, can't remember where but I'll look for it later.
I know that the ability to color your name was also included in some hacks and a lot of people will think you are using them when you have an orange name. Some server admins will kick/ban for using it as well so be carefull when using it.
