Bf2142 disk wierd-ness HELP

Ok well, when playing 2142 the last couple days, ive been hearing like beating sounds every few seconds, and when that does happen, it lags for a while, like total screen freeze lag for 2 or 3 seconds...... its wierd.....

It also happened when the disk was just sitting in the drive, on desktop, and its been causing my pc to totally freeze....

now the disk isnt in the noise stopped, any suggestions?

i need it fixed by half 1 edt half 5 gmt tomorrow so i can attend the internal scrim

HELP

have you tried cleaning the disk? like wiping it/ searching for scratches/smudges?

This needs more testing. Have you heard this thump with any other cd games? Does game-play still skip when you take the disk out of the drive?

Re: Bf2142 disk wierd-ness HELP

ok well, ill test this thory and get back to you.. well not theory, ill see if it skips when i take it out. although with the dvd drive, it didnt skip with a dvd video, and i have no other dvd games to test with.

I believe the disk is in an ok condition, it dusnt seem too bad.

I might try installing it on a friends pc see if this problem still happens.... ok ill report back again

thanks
