Cheap Microphone?

i am lookin to buy a mic, simply because i love the interaction it offers with your SL making the game so much more enjoyable. Can any one recommend a cheap solution?

Thanks

Re: microphone?

I've had this one from Plantronics for quite some time and it's very good.

Re: microphone?

I have the same one as DaddyofThree and I really like it. It is comfortable on your head which is a must for a good headset.

cheers

Re: Cheap Microphone?

I've read good reviews about this one: http://www.xoxide.com/audiofx-force-...k-headset.html

I use a Plantronics stereo headset as well, but it is not USB. I find it more comfortable than my old Logitech set (USB with an ultra sensitive mute button).

Re: Cheap Microphone?

I have a crappy clip microphone that is taped to the end of a marker pen and taped to the side of my headphones.

I rule.

Re: Cheap Microphone?

I used to buy the fancy ones then I realized they all end up breaking anyhow so now I just buy whatever cheapie is on sale. They work just as well and cost a fraction of the amount of the more expensive ones.

I had the same problem, but then I stopped throwing them across the room when I died and now for some reason my mics lasts a lot longer

kidding BTW, I just curse and threaten bodily harm to my attacker like a normal person.

Re: Cheap Microphone?

I highly recommend this microphone: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16836501002

$7 plus shipping. From everyone I've played with they've never had any problems with the audio quality or anything. Picks up your voice real well; I've had it off my headphone cord on my desk a bit behind some crap on and people could still hear me fairly ok. Just a heads up on the cord, its meant for thick wires. I just double wrap it and clip it to itself near the top of my headphone cable and it works perfectly.

lol I wish it was something like that... would be easier to avoid doing. Usually it ends up being a wire or connection that just craps out over time. My current headset I have to hold the wire at a certain angle or I only get sound out of the left earpiece.

Re: Cheap Microphone?

That Zalman microphone was the one I had before (came with my headphones)... it's good except it has to be preaty close to your mouth... which is odd since its a clip mic

Really? I get a pretty good audio pickup.

Re: Cheap Microphone?

I had to clip it to another microphone that didn't work and wear two headsets to have it close enough to my mouth (Damn Zalman headphones and their lack of mics)
