Re: Connection Lost
I also have the same issue. Although rejoining works the 2nd around, but no crashes or such (outside of the normal ones) beyond once I get in the server.

I'll usually have problems getting on servers, or if I do get on, will get kicked very quickly due to PB or something stupid. The 3rd will atest to the screaming and yelling at EA/BF I do on a weekly basis.

Re: Connection Lost
I don't have EA link open or Promod installed. I noticed this when we moved to the new Conquest Server and have the same random drops and stalls with a moderately good ping (90-95).
Might be unrelated to the 'server error detected' when I try to sign on or when it searches for the server on my favorites list. Then again, it might be connected somehow. -.-

Re: Connection Lost
I've had the same problem since day one. I can *never* connect to a server on the first try. It takes at least two, and sometimes more tries. I have both promod and ea link.

Re: Connection Lost
I had this problem. Heres a fix for AMD x64 users and Windows XP:
Make sure you have the following files installed: See - amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_13118,00.html * AMD Dual-Core Optimizer * AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor Driver for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Version (x86 and x64 exe) 1.3.2.16 (This was for BF2 / PR) Last edited by ZaBoo; 08-21-2007 at 09:24 PM. Re: Connection Lost
I get this my first game every time. I just bring up the task manager and right-click on the battlefield process and set the affinity to use only CPU 0. I also do that for the two punkbuster processes. I have to try and go into a game first to get the second punkbuster process to go.
Also I always got lags and kicks when I had Comcast. They were fine on port 80 for surfing traffic, but I think they block and pause other ports to prevent phone traffic. That would compete with their digital phone service. Since I switched to DSL I haven't been kicked once after the initial kick going into the first game. I couldn't even complete a game with Comcast. |

And, yeah, I've been getting hit with the can't connect on the first try thing too recently. Second try always works for me though. |
