Wait... so if a flag is blinking (not yet neutral), you can't spawn on it to save it?!?
Iffy! I've seen cases where I can not spawn on a flag I just took and enemy was retaking it and other times when I can spawn on it just before it goes down. (Helo was in area.) Also noticed could not spawn on some flags that were obviously ours. This patch has bugs!
I am super excited about the color blind extensions. I, being colorblind, used to not be able to tell a difference between a squad mate and a enemy on the mini map. Hopefully it will be better. How about suppressors? Does it look like it will still be the dominant attachment for assault rifles?
Ok here are my first impressions after playing for two hours.
There is a big Welcome Banner when you load a map.
There is a much shortened round timer now. It's almost as if it starts immediately. Some server owners may want to extend that match start timer by 10 seconds.
Minimap is MUCH better. Colors are different on icons.
Guns behave differently. Some not as bad as others. You will have to relearn how to shoot some of them.
Re-Customize all your gun attachments and kits.
The Sound Suppressor lower effectiveness quite a bit. I suggest choosing something else. I went with Flash Suppressor for some and Long Barrel for others.
Repair tool for Engy is totally nerfed. 2 Engy post patch do about as much repair as 1.2 Engy pre-patch.
Bi-pods have been improved. You will absolutely notice the accuracy difference when deployed.
Vehicles have been very much nerfed.
All the armor take less shots to kill. I was able to disable a tank with a single shot to anywhere in the rear half of the tank.
You are able to take out a tank with 1 less RPG or tank shot. i.e. 3 RPG to the front and 2 to the side. 1 RPG perfect on the rear of a tank now puts it down below the 30% in health. Same goes with IFV. I was disabling Vodniks down to flames with a single grenade shot.
Mobile AA was killed with 2 Front hit RPG shots.
I was able to kill a full health chopper instantly with a single tank shot.
There is absolutely going to be a learning curve. Just take it easy and realize some things are going to suck before they get better. However be happy because some other things will actually feel better than before. So some give and some take. We just have to reevaluate our tactics and methods. The only thing I feel was a bit too much was the nerf of the armor for vehicles. That needs to really be upped a tiny bit.

same here... so many times, I would hunker down to take a flag, hear gunshots and see a wedge on teh mini-map, and I would have to look in that direction to see if my team-mates were there, or if it was a bad guy.
After some game time this aft, I have to say this patch feels great. Gameplay on armor maps are going slow down as a tank can no longer move into close contact and dominate without the proper infantry support.
As others have said, there is a real learning curve for your favorite weapons now.
Gunney is easier to play with as his claymores don't surprise you everywhere anymore (as long as you kill him once in awhile).
Spawning on flags works the same as before. The only difference is that on the map during the original neutral state it now displays the color of the team taking the flag and is blinking. It is no longer displayed as grey on the map unless both teams have equal men in cap, the flag is neutral, and no progress has been made for capping for each team. If you look above the minimap(not the map) at the list of all the flags in a row it is still grey. This may help see which team is taking a flag but overall I think it just messes up with which flag you think you can spawn on. When knowing which flag to spawn on look at the row of flags instead of the flags on the map.
Not the best example for showing vehicle power. Context is important too, a long tunnel with very little opportunity to flank plays right into a tank's advantages. I'd say that shows that the map needs to be nerfed if anything.
Gun wise, I will probably stick with the m16a3 as I don't see any gun out matching it right now even with the new patch. I'de say the AS VAL is a major winner in this patch. Extended mag ftw.
As for armor, good, finally, they nerfed it. Hopefully people will play the objectives now instead of trying to take down 1 tank.
The new suppression is insane; if someone is simply sitting in a corner camping they can kill you every single time because all they have to do is fire first, and even if they have horrid accuracy the increased suppression gives them time to finish you off anyways. I like the idea itself as it leans towards a more realistic aspect, but the way they implemented it breaks the game.
Essentially LMG's with a large mag and hiding in a corner = win in a firefight now, which takes a lot of the tactical aspect out of the game
I will play it out more though, as hopefully in a few days the new suppression will lead to more squad-oriented and tactical play, but atm from what I have seen it has attracted a lot of cod style play.
Well yea I was rather drunk but when I changed to the TG server it seemed fine. On larger maps I did not notice it at all; at first I was only playing on bazaar and a few other tiny ones.
I havent had a chance to play with the new patch, but have been reading at other forums. There seems to be a consensus that aircraft. especially jets, are even more overpowered than before. not due to a buffing in the jets but due to enability to lock them in time, the decreased range of infantry based AA, and a possible bug in new patch where heat seeking missles are not damaging the aircraft at all. Is this correct or just noobs crying?
The AA stinger Nerf is correct. They are very close range now. Overly so. They over nerfed them.
They needed a Nerf in range but not this much.

It is not often that I encounter across myself when researching a topic. I found the following in a recent article on the uses of ethnography in virtual environments:
