Thoughts on the Type 88 GPMG?

It was one of my beast weapons as medic in BC2 but in this, it just seems there is nothing to like about it. bullet drop is by far the worst of all mgs and even other weapons it seems like I have to aim into the sky for it to hit anything, spread is a bit much, the bullet drop and I think and damage isn't that great either. And bullet drop.

I tried to like this weapon and I poured a good amount of my recent bf3 playtime into this but I just don't like it.

It's come to the point where I'm so stubborn to like it, it's like I'm using it out of spite along with some sort of hope thinking it will get better while knowing it won't.

Any one's thoughts on this weapon, as I'm close to giving up?

Also, is there any sight that has the stats for weapons in the game since the patch? just wondering.

Honestly, I think it's waste of time. As far as the stats go, it gets outclassed in just about every aspect. I think the entire reason it exists is so it can take up space in the Physical Warfare pack, so players can use it instead of the M27 or RPK until they start unlocking the other Support primaries.

My advice, pick up the M240B, PKP Pecheneg, or the M60 and don't ever look back.

There was a thread here about "better battlelog",it is a plugin gives more stats in battlelog and detailed weapon stats. Google it. Just make sure to download from the right link, the is an ad space that has a download picture for something else sometimes that is not the same thing.

Yeah I got to a hundred kills with it....it's just kind of meh all around. I also really liked in BC2...too bad.

Just going to add the M27 IAR for a faster, lighter LMG if you need to move?

I was mostly suggesting those due to the similar feel to the Type 88. The RoF and recoil are similar or easy to transition to from the Type 88, and they all do more damage. Not saying the other LMGs are in any way less worth trying, just making a suggestion based on what was presented.

Shame it's such a lost cause, hopefully it may be patched-up in the future, who knows?

I'm just sticking with the RPK w/ bipod and red dot so far, I don't think I will ever go back to the T88.

The recoil on the Pecheneg is a bit of a beast.

I only unlocked it recently so I have been working on getting the unlocks to see if it would get better. This thread has confirmed my suspicions that it's not very good.
