I have 50$ laying around and I noticed that BF3 was 40$. I was wondering if it is worth getting the game since it has been a little bit since it came out. I wouldn't get any expansions for it. Input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Proud to have been an Irregular, HeadHunter, and a Siege Corps Engineers!
Im pretty sure you can get the game+expansions for that much.
Edit: Its actually $60 for Premium edition "Game+expansions"
$40 for the game itself,
$50 for premium "Expansions only"
If you do get the game you'll probably get premium at some point, so Id say if you can, get $10 more, buy everything instead of eventually paying $90 for everything
The expansions are well worth it, and you won't be able to play on the TG server for very long without them.
I don't know what kind of price structure they have, but its messed up, why can't it be the same total cost??

You're basically correct there. They will discount you the price of each expansion if you buy them individually and the decide to go Premium after say getting 3...but it is absurd to imagine buying the base game for $40 when you can get everything, including unreleased content, for $60.
Plus you get the Multiplayer Head start kit...which you may think to yourself you don't really want, but it includes very basic unlocks for each class (like Defibrillators) that you probably don't want to have to unlock just to enjoy the game anyway.
The only way to see the pricing structure is doing a search on origin
I got ARMA II and MoW for free from GMG. Having to go through their launcher was annoying though, but I don't know how it will work with origins; they may just sell you the BF3 key which is a good deal.
Green Man Gaming is a decent site. You'll just get the keys for BF3 and the other content and enter them into the Origin client. The only issue that some folks run into is that GMG is based in England so if you're in America your bank may have a fit and require you to call them and allow the charge. Otherwise they have some crazy deals and can often get 30%+ off even on pre-orders for new games.
Eight months later I finally received the reports from three peer-reviews on my latest manuscript with the University of Toronto Press. This will be my third book with the same press and the second...
