In my opinion, 4-man/gal squads seem like a better choice, although I would hope the PC version allows for more than just 3 squads altogether on each side. One thing's for sure though, there's going to be a lot of change in TG tactics because of the ability to spawn on any SM and not just the SL. It'll mean that SLs can be a lot more active in combat, rather than staying back to be a spawn location.

There is SL, he will be able to give commands etc.
Spawning in to every member forces squad play. Other than that they have stated multiple times in videos that you can "spawn into the back base or squad member". This might mean, especially in rush, that pushes are made harder to break, but if you happen to succeed, they will have to get back there all the way from base.
They're still working on with the system, I can imagine hell-loads of nasty tactics for 4-man all spawn squad. You can't really compare BC system to one in 2142 though, so again we just have to see.

The point of spawning on any squad members is to make the battlefield feel more crowded and faster paced.
There aren't multiple places to spawn on a map like bf2/2142 so if you die and can't spawn on squad leader you're moved all the way back to your current base of operations (which moves forwards as you take objectives in the Rush game mode).
The revive timer is also quite short so people can get back into the action quickly.
It all adds up to a battlefield that feels like nowhere is safe, anybody could be anywhere.

I believe you're spot on. You think you've got everyone assaulting, one is left though, you take a quick rest, heal, reload, and boom, there's those 4 persons again

It's nice they confirm another squad system setup for PC, but then we're kind of let down a bit for they do not tell us how they will make it
