Re: Questions to the beta players ?
It's definitely an "arcadey" type of game. Remember that this isn't a successor to the main battlefield franchise but the bad company sub-franchise.
What this means is a focus on getting into the game quickly and getting on with the shooting.
There are ticket counts, however!
On the minimap HUD area there is a ticket count. In the Rush game mode (the mode we have on the beta) the defenders have infinite tickets and the attackers have a set number of tickets to use to take the several capture points. If the tickets run out for the attackers then the defenders win.
The russians(?) tank is the most annoying thing there is. You get in it and everything becomes super bright and greyscale
The squads need a lot of work, even for consoles. You can't control what squad you are in or who is with you. Nobody really uses the squads for anything more than randomly moving spawn points in most games.
Any squad member can give out orders. Pressing the [select] button works as ordering commands (ie. point at an objective and hit [select]). The same button, however, works as the "q spot".
In the beta there doesn't seem to be a UAV or orbital you'd see in 2142. HOWEVER!
There is a helicopter UAV that works to target a missile. It's very vulnerable. Also the sniper role gets a mortar strike gadget. It takes a while to order the stike (5 seconds-ish) and takes a bit of time to hit a target (and then reload). It's great for taking out stationary tanks and the delay in using and the reload time keep it from being over powered.
I hope there is an option on the server for kill cam (ala. Counter-Strike) because it's completely stupid.

Re: Questions to the beta players ?
New questions:
Is there an indicator that you've hit someone (like the x through the crosshair in BF2 and the (semi)circle in BF2142? (nevermind, there is)
Can you switch to English voices only?
Can you zoom in/out the minimap?
Is there an alarm (both visual and/or acoustic) that your vehicle is being targeted by an AT/AA-weapon?
Can the crosshair colors be changed?

Re: Questions to the beta players ?
Infact the hit indicator flashes up when you replenish ammo and heal people with your med hub too!

Re: Questions to the beta players ?
is the graphics engine ping sensitive ?
can you play on non US servers and see the ping and tell if it makes a dramatic difference to your aiming or not ?
BF2 and 2142 were not that ping sensitive, which means euros can visit and play with higher ping

Re: Questions to the beta players ?
I have seen the rotating minimap, can you also see a full screen map like in 2142 or BF2 ?

Re: Questions to the beta players ?
Just a reminder that this is a console version. They have very few buttons to try and get as much as they can into the game, so I doubt they're going to have buttons to spare for map stuff, etc. but I'd put money on that kinda stuff being in the PC version.

Re: Questions to the beta players ?
After the MW2 dedicated servers hoopla, DICE made a point of saying they weren't just going to do a PC port of the console version of BC2. Here's hoping it wasn't just talk.
