Re: Questions to the beta players ?
Yes, and most of the perks really DO make a difference. Since your optics take up one of your two perks slots, you really will have to choose who's going to be the marksman and who's going to use that perk to have extra grenades/explosives/medkits/etc... Also, the vehicle perk that makes the tank's main gun reload faster is absolutely dominant. Makes a huge difference, especially in tank vs. tank battles.

Re: Questions to the beta players ?
That's cool, because one of the big things with the great in theory 2142 unlock system is that there is really one assault kit worth using, one support kit worth using, and maybe two loadouts each that really make a difference for engi or recon. So you get these four unlocks per kit, but more then half never get used.
If they can get the perks/unlocks to be balanced so that it's a genuinely hard decision to make, that would be very good for the game.
Oh, and I want to know if the optics really make that much a difference. Or are you better off with extra nades or something and just using the iron sights.

Re: Questions to the beta players ?
It depends on the gun and it depends on whether you can aim sufficiently with the iron sights. Some guns have really crummy iron sights, others are pretty easy to aim. The reflex sight, which has no magnification, is a big improvement for most weapons but not mandatory. The ACOG 4x scope is a huge improvement for some weapons, particularly the M60 LMG because of it's high first shot accuracy.
I personally use the reflex sight most on the Engineer kit's SMGs. Because they deal quite a bit less damage than the rifles and LMGs, getting a headshot in your first or second burst is pretty critical if you want to win a head to head engagement. The downside is you can't carry extra RPGs. Most of the assault rifles I've tried are OK without optics, with the exception of the F2000 which has an ironsight I can't stand.
I think the ACOG might really come in handy on some of the semi-auto sniper rifles that Recon gets."No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country.

Re: Questions to the beta players ?
It might be a bit limiting, choosing an optic over a rocket launcher....But whatever, I can deal with that

Re: Questions to the beta players ?
Quick weapon variety question.
Are the weapon models different for both sides or are they the same once you unlock them.
I have seen American soldiers running around with Russian RPGs and it's a bit of a turn off.
Aside from the standard M16s and AK47s are the other weapon models different for each side??

Re: Questions to the beta players ?
It's a balance issue. This game seems to take balance pretty seriously.

Re: Questions to the beta players ?
Yeah I like the balance but maybe I dunno paint the guns different colors or something. Give them different textures. Maybe some dessert camo.

Re: Questions to the beta players ?
Actually if you look at the interview with Gordon Van Dyke there is an M14 in the background with a red dot and ris rails. I haven't played CoD but I still like the M14. Just a quick question, do the maps have little info blurbs on the loading screen like in bf2142 and bf2?
