Server 2 is changing over to a Squad DeathMatch (SDM) game mode. In SDM, four squads of four members square off against each other to see which squad can reach the kill limit first. The way to win SDM is to stay with your squad and work together to hunt down the enemy squads that are hunting you! The opportunities for close quarter combat and intricate squad play are endless.
SDM should offer us a clear way to engage in squad level tactics in BC2 until in-game VOIP is fixed. Without squad level VOIP, the team is often forced to work as a single unit (for better or worse). Many of us that are used to squad level VOIP from previous BF games find it impossilbe to develp a cohesive squad without close voice contact with just your squad. If everyone treated teamwide VIOP as squad VOIP it would be a complete disaster!
The admin team feel SDM may be a refreshing alternative to the already well established mixed mode servers we have. The Server 2 channel on Teamspeak3 is setup with subchannels for squads to use for in game squad chat. You can finally yell, “hey, behind you!” and not annoy the rest of your team! We hope that In House Squads and other individuals that like to work in small groups will jump on this opportunity to develop a tactical way to play SDM at TG.
Here is a developer walk-through of the SDM game mode:

Having missed out on All DeathMatch, All The Time during the pre-release, I am looking forward to this.
Who needs a life when you can have a heavy bolter?
<23:03:38> "|TG|Smachin<BF Admin>" was kicked from the server by "|TG-70th| Zhohar" (UNDERAGE ban.) Anything over $600, and it would be pointless to try and reason with Grandma
it's been ignored for mostly the large part since people have a hard time getting into the squad they want...
thats the problem on every mode of play. just hit a squad and go. I can't count the times I am in our server with a squad of pubbies and no comms. people need to set there purses down a little more often I think...
