Discussion: Tactical / Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - Congrats to TG21 on TWL Match vs. AOD - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0QQg...eature=feedlik
Looks like it was a really close match guys... Congrats on the fine showing.
Dude's running some kind of script... is that legal in TWL? (edit: for record it's NOT legal at TG)
Watch, EVERY time he fires, he insta-switches to pistol and insta-rapid-fires it.
There's also some kind of insta-scope-shoot thing to the script, where it fires a shot immediately after zooming in. Watch at 5:10 when he grabs the medic kit.
No he's not running any sort of script.. I do the exact same thing when I play.
He is really quick when he switches to the pistol and that comes down to experience and a really clever key set-up. You will see him switch to the pistol even when he kills the guy or are moving away after a shot.. Habit, I always switch to the pistol when I have fired a round. When you have done it 5-6K times it's hard to not do it.
Take my word for it.. He is just that good.

- In the process, I have discovered that I can make iron bolts with my butt****.
He's amazing, but I still say he's scripting. (Like Barry Bonds or any the best Tour de France riders taking PEDs - it's often the best that go for that little edge)
You're not at all suspicious of a quick-scope script when the guy picks up an mg36, zooms in to look around and quick-fires exactly one round?

I would be suspicious except his primary role is recon. I remember in 2142 the sniper rifles have a brief moment after bringing up the scope where accuracy is incredible. So the whole scope->fire thing became a habit. In the middle of action it can be easy to forget you just picked up an MG36 and your not carrying your GOL anymore. I don't know...

Believe me, quick-scoping is alive in well in BC2 <sad face>
Think about it - the concept <kill> is different from the concept <look-while-zoomed> ... they're VERY different. If he picked up the MG36 and then tried to quick-scope someone, then I'd be less sure of myself. But that's not what he did... he picked up the MG36, and only tried to <look-while-zoomed>.... but he didn't switch script options, so <quick-scope> was still loaded for right-click.
Also - about always switching to pistol. His in-game soldier does it but then switches to something else - even back to the SV. Like I said, I'm not saying he isn't gifted - but the footage is pretty obvious.
Anyway, sorry to derail the congratulatory thread. It doesn't really affect me if people cheat in TWL; we just don't want this crap on our server.
I am going to have to agree with Abel on this one.
That is pretty much what I always do at medium range, one shot with the SV98 while having my ring finger on the "1" key and as soon as I shoot I switch to the handgun and rapidly click until the enemy (or myself) goes down.
Was a fun match, they are a good and well organized team. We beat them in 8v8 last night, and the rematch to regain our #1 6v6 IO spot is this coming Sunday.
Bravo Microsoft, you have now surpassed EA in poor decisions and once and for all seized the crown for the worst 'Reveal' ever. That EA were standing there on the stage with you when you did it was...

It is not often that I encounter across myself when researching a topic. I found the following in a recent article on the uses of ethnography in virtual environments:

Took a gamble and got a refurbished 30 GB OCZ Vertex 1 off of NewEgg for the low, low price of $30. Had some trouble getting the drive to be recognized by Windows or by my BIOS. Had to use a jumper...
