    Rush organisation

I've had a thought about team organisation in BC2 so here it is. It mainly applies to 16 a side rush, attackers.

The basic idea is to organise the team as a company of two platoons of two squads each. Alpha and bravo squads make up 1st platoon, charlie and delta make up 2nd platoon. One reason for this organisation is speccing. The idea is that 1st platoon is mainly responsible for pressing the attack and is specced for it. 2nd platoon is responsible for covering 1st platoon from a position of cover, elevation and some distance and is specced for that. 1st is for attacking, 2nd is for a base of fire covering 1st. Likewise the 1st squad of 1st platoon (alpha squad) would be the most forward unit. In particular they should be good at assaulting buildings. Bravo squad should be for reinforcing 1st squad, reviving if down, and otherwise helping them out and covering from a short distance incase alpha gets gunned down. This should be effective for arming MCOMs. Charlie squad, 2nd platoon's 1st squad should be always covering, spotting, and killing from a backward position behind cover, ideally making sure anything that reveals itself trying to kill 1st platoon will be killed first. 4x scopes, rifles, rockets, LMGs (a medic in particlar to keep maximum firepower). Mortars would be good especially if you had a lot and could rain in mortars consistently. Both platoons will be spotting for each other. The other thing about 2nd platoon is the tank that is usually supplied for the attackers on rush. This is delta squad's tank and it sits back sending in shells and MG fire. Consists of a driver/gunner pair, and two others. This squad should contain at least one engineer, if not much is going on the others can join charlie squad in firing.

Some of the MCOMs on some maps are in indestructible buildings where I think this really shines. You can have alpha squad breaking into the building, arming the MCOM and holding it from within (and specced for this role), bravo squad watching the doors from a house down the street a short distance, and all of 2nd platoon watching it.

As for the chain of command.
You have a Captain commanding the company and one of the platoons and one of its squads directly, a Lieutenant commanding the other platoon and one of its squads directly, and a Sergeant commanding each of the other uncommanded squads. I think a backward position is good for the Captain so he can oversee the megamap and consider the enemy's position/movement at large, so probably delta or charlie squad. Unless he feels like getting a first hand look at the battlefield in which case alpha or bravo squad would be good. This splitting into two groups I think makes basic though effective two-pronged attacks very easy to coordinate, and it's scalable. A Captain can order one platoon one way and the other another way, then each platoon can do the same with its squads on a smaller scale. Might even be good to divide squads into fireteams of two for going into a building from two sides.

So in short everyone has a specific role, delegation is thick so basic orders can be expanded and details filled in down the line (1st platoon attack MCOM B -> 1st squad go around the fence left, 2nd squad go right -> etc.)

    Mad? Or mad genius?

    Re: Rush organisation

This would take a couple of seconds to get right in the beginning of rounds, but seems like the best Idea I have seen to date to help this game out!!
