Re: Hellfire Missiles from the chopper
Sure is. It'll take practice, but a gunner good with it will make everything super easy.
I've noticed that it's really difficult, specifically because when piloting I tend to make very fast lines, then turn sharp, repeat. This makes it easy for us to focus on one target and stay mobile, but it has the side effect of putting on a ton of reverse lead being needed. I was doing this on Port Valdez, and we were doing great, but often the gunner's rounds ended up landing behind the target because of this, and significantly so; the infantryman was unscathed, and the entire barrage landed in a pretty line behind him.
Hellfires to more damage to vehicles than even regular AT rockets (RPG/CG/AT4), so they're very valuable for a chopper crew to use when combatting enemy vehicles. (Hydras, though plentiful, are pretty weak against armor, and same goes for the chaingun.)

Re: Hellfire Missiles from the chopper
The hellfire do the same amount of damage as the UAV which makes it what? 75-80dmg? If you throw in some of the regular rockets you will most likely kill the tank which makes the chopper crazy powerful when used right..

Re: Hellfire Missiles from the chopper
Yeah, it really is.
I never thought about it damagewise, I'll have to see how many Hydras it takes along with a hellfire to take down a heavy and a light tank...

Re: Hellfire Missiles from the chopper
This is a silly question, but what is the capacity for the helicopters on that map? It's just two right? So there's no way to have hellfire, tracers, and optics right?

Re: Hellfire Missiles from the chopper
Just 2 seats..
So 2 soldiers 1 bringing in alt fire and the other optics (Thats the zoom right?) you both get those capabilities in the vehicle, if it's available in the vehicle seat. So I don't think you can zoom while pilot, but you can in second seat, and both get alt fire (tracer/hellfire).
I never pilot though, so that may not be right..BF3 Soldier: DrSparky

Re: Hellfire Missiles from the chopper
That's a negative. If the pilot brings alt fire and the gunner brings zoom, the pilot gets hellfire and the gunner gets zoom thats it. I'm testing the perks right now to see what stacks and what you should use to be as effective as possible. More info coming up later on..
