Yeah the accuracy of the XM8 LMG was the sole reason it was my first platinum star.
So, I just unlocked the mg36, and, why would anyone use the xm8 when the MG36 seems just as accurate and hard-hitting, but with a red dot built in? If anything, it seems a tiny bit more accurate than the xm8. Does the xm8 have better accuracy on the move, or do you just like its irons?
I personally dislike the red dot on the MG36 immensely. I always found myself taking too long to spot the enemy and start shooting. This caused me to become oblivious to nearby targets that I otherwise would have been aware of if I wasn't looking at the telescopic MG36 red dot sight
The only real advantage to the MG36 scope imo is an extra perk. lightweight or extra ammo is well worth the different RDS for me.
Oh and I might make a new version of this again if I ever get time, half of what I posted I have found to not work anymore (ex: covering fire), and my choice in weapons has changed as well.
The MG36 is the weapon of choice for me as a medic. The only time I don't use the MG36 are on the snow maps that have an extreme amount of glare, in those cases, I opt for the XM8. As Razcsak says, I find the MG36 very accurate and powerful.

Took a gamble and got a refurbished 30 GB OCZ Vertex 1 off of NewEgg for the low, low price of $30. Had some trouble getting the drive to be recognized by Windows or by my BIOS. Had to use a jumper...
It has been almost 6 months now and I am still waiting for the second peer-review report to come in for my next book (this one is on the future of television).
