Discussion: Battlefield: Bad Company 2 / Battlefield BC2 - Tactics & SOPs - q spot - When you Q spot someone, do they show up on the minimap? I know vehicles
It is only worth it if people take advantage of it. I use my minimap and full map(this is bound to "M" by default and displays the whole map on conquest and current stage on rush) any time I am not engaged to determine where the enemy is by watching for spots and killed friendlies. This helps me decide where I am most needed on the battlefield. I am unsure how many others use the larger map, some are unaware that there is a larger map.
I find it worthwhile in particular situations, mainly when enemies are trying to be sneaky.
Yes and no... I have only ever heard it if my squad mate spotted a person and I'm close by to him/her. Same thing for when a teammates announces "You got that %#@!" or etc of that sort of msg. I'm assuming they should be able to hear that... if not idk why they wouldn't.
Since our server has the triangles off alot of people don't bother pressing Q to spot (judging from experience and from the video I have seen of server 1 that is posted on forums).
Just because we don't have 3D spotting, doesn't mean its rarely used. Anytime I feel I'm safe, I always check the minimap, ESPECIALLY when capping a flag or trying to prevent a flag cap.

Took a gamble and got a refurbished 30 GB OCZ Vertex 1 off of NewEgg for the low, low price of $30. Had some trouble getting the drive to be recognized by Windows or by my BIOS. Had to use a jumper...
It has been almost 6 months now and I am still waiting for the second peer-review report to come in for my next book (this one is on the future of television).
