It look a few days longer than hoped because of all the snowstorms up here. That was mostly the fault of UPS.

It came with all the bits and pieces and I really liked the packaging. It reminds me of how Apple products are packaged, very clean. It even came with a free t-shirt!

Letting it warm up a bit now and then I'll get it fired up and run through the setup.

So far this thing kicks donkey butt.. I love it..

For ****s and giggles I ripped Phantom Menace as a full-DVD .ISO with zero compression. The MX 880HD actually handled it BEAUTIFULLY. DTS output even works!! I'm really going to put it through the paces over the next couple days and make sure it holds up to what I expect. There are a couple of things I noticed off the bat; the remote seems... well... slow. The response just isn't there in comparison to my other TV/AV remotes.

The other thing that seems a bit off is the BitTorrent client. I had hoped I could just drop in the URL for a torrent file and it would do the work for me... No such luck. I actually have to download the .torrent file to my PC, then access the 880HD through the web interface and upload the .torrent file before it starts doing its magic. It seems a bit cumbersome.

Right now I'm copying over some 200+ DVDs that i've already ripped from my collection. That's going to take a long time..... The only problem is my previous rips didn't support DTS or AC3 audio because the playback devices I was using didn't support it while streaming from my server. It looks like I'm going to have to pull out that big box of DVDs and start all over again and do higher quality rips now that I have a higher quality direct playback device.

    More to come!

    Very encouraging.

Hopefully the company can correct the remote lag in a firmware update.
