A «gaucher» or a «gauchère» in French is a left-handed person. Nothing to do with the disease.

A SouthPaw. My sister is left-handed. She taught me how to tie my shoe laces and how to deal cards. So I do these things as if I was left-handed. I hold a golf club, and a baseball bat on one side (right hand side), but a hockey stick the other (as the majority of players it seems). I've always been attracted and fascinated by left-handed people. I did a test once, and told my friends I could spot left-handed people in a room (without looking at how they use of their hands of course). Ya right Blonov, «bull they said». I scored 7 out of 10. Not bad.

I can write with both hands, I can read upside down (pretty useful in interviews) and I do mirror writing. Genetic trait ?

Statistics (well, according to Amanda Onion...)«show left-handed people are more likely to be schizophrenic, alcoholic, delinquent, dyslexic, and have Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, as well as mental disabilities. They're also more likely to die young and get into accidents. So if evolutionary theory dictates survival of the fittest, why do lefties still exist then ?» Duh ?

Faith Hill and Nicole Kidman (just to name a few) That's why!
