First off, renew my 20 year old birth certificate. Pay 35 CDN pesos, Express post, 3-6 days, got it. That's my first step. I never get mail on Friday's. Today was different. Master Card bill, and, what ? , Express post! Cool! Tear open the enveloppe, logon the «oh so convenient secured Passport Canada web site», 4 more pages and I'm done. This is going well.
Logon, password, eyeball the birth certificate, «What!» Crap, they screwed up my birth date. No, hold on, «What the hell, this is not even my name!».
I guess I don't pay enough taxes, and some poor underpaid Government worker could not correlate the name on my drivers license, that matched the one on my health card, that matched the name and address where the certificate should be mailed, and the reason stated for the expedite: «passport renewal». Makes sense. Due to the increased security concern, when you renew your passport, you should use a fake name, with the wrong birth date.
