Yesterday, I was re-paving a road on the main intersection on base. I was working for 5 hours tearing the old pavement out and replacing it with HOT asphalt. I was in the hole shoveling the pavement sweating my balls off. I was already in a bad mood because I missed both breakfast an lunch to make sure my job was done right. I am unsure whether I want to re-enlist in the Air Force or not. I really like it but the way things are going now, I will spend over half my career overseas. I dont mind that so much, but I want to settle down. I like the fact that I get a consistent paycheck and this is probably the easiest job I ever had. I could get out right now and do what I do, I know I could make more back in the states as a civilian. I could go to Iraq as a civilian and make over a 100 grand doing convoys.

Well I had another really crappy night of sleeping. I have dreams about friends getting blown up and explosions right in front of me. Even though I have only been attacked about 10 times in Iraq...it still sticks with me today, even though I wasn't "physically" injured I am mentally scarred.

While the massacre at V-Tech is still in the news, the American public forgot the "others" dying around this world. While the V Tech was tragic, lets not forget about the troops dying overseas. Just today we lost NINE brave souls who gave their lives for a undeserving country. We lost all our focus from one thing and switched it to the other. Not for the war?...Not for the troops?
