I have logged a support ticket with Kaos regarding their implementation of the Punkbuster protocol. A very swift response seems to indicate that they are attentive to their customers. I believe they are still working on the implementation of PB so they were not able to disclose any information. I was encouraged to ask them again in a few weeks time.

I will try again on the release date....

I have started to investigate the protocols for FFoW. The aim is to support the following features for this game:

1. Supporting Member slots for TG players
2. Squadless kicks
3. HashLogging in order to support retroactive action

I am fairly sure Kaos is aiming for UDP protocol for the interaction with the game server. A support ticket has been logged to get the specification. If Kaos provides the necessary info TG will have full backend support for this game within two weeks of release. ...More Read More

One of the major concerns here at TG is to be able to have enough supporting members to allow a variety of games hosted. Every gameserver costs money to uphold.

As some of you may know I implemented the supporting member slots feature for Battlefield 2142. I`ll give you an introduction to how this came about.

I work as a IT architect/programmer. I have spent my last 6 years working solely with Java. Mainly in the enterprise stack. This encompass databases, web services, a multitude of f ...More Read More

I clocked in countless hours yesterday for getting both JSR181(annotation driven webservices), AND autowiring in Hibernate(JPA) to the SpringApplicationContext. Finally after doing the entire thing step by step I got it working. Now I can go back to designing the services needed.

The ones of you who take an interest in java and programming have surely heard about annotations. Annotations is a huge step into making ORM a lot easier. ORM is object relational mapping. There is a large gap between databases and object oriented programming languages. The problem is that databases are relational. The base structure difference costs the industry billions of dollars each year. The costs is due to the need to map an object from the Java world to a persisten object in the databas ...More Read More

For some reason weather is the one most common thing Norwegians mentions in a conversation. This is undoubtfull due to the lack of good weather throughout the year here.

Today is a wonderfull exception. Good Friday has shown itself with crisp air and a nice and warming sun. My girlfriend is out on the balcony catching some rays, and I am laying on the sofa with my laptop working on the Ribbons system.

....what does that make me?

My current code task at TG is to help getting a new and more automated award system in place. The old one ran by Root and Bommando, ended up to consuming too much time. The plan is to get this system up and running within the next few months(sounds like a lot of time but remember we have work next to TG).

An official announcement will most likely come in time, but for now this small teaser will make do.
