so?.....whats the thought?
I have spoken to several people already who have said "save your money".....what I heard has not been to good. I usually take that with a grain of salt, but these are TG people that I play with regularly and know a good game when they play it. Anyone else have any input? From what limited input I have it sounds like just another broken game.

Re: so?.....whats the thought?
It has a lot of potential, especially here at TG. It lends itself to TG type play which is near impossible to get so soon after release because, as you said, it's still kinda broken. Server browser is worse that BF2's was. Servers crash, and lag is bad (though I imagine that's because people were hosting their own games).
Graphics are sub par, but the physics are kinda cool. I'd love if it looked as good as it did in that demonstration video that was posted a few days ago, but alas it doesn't.
All in all I'm pretty disappointed. There's no way I'll keep playing the game in the state that it's in. If they manage to fix the problems it'll tide me over till RO2 comes out.

Re: so?.....whats the thought?
Should we really be put off by graphics that aren't super pretty? It's more about the gameplay and the players. The gameplay is unique and it lends itself to TG style play. Plus playing with TG guys makes it even better. So don't judge a book by it's cover. Graphics, meh. Servers, ....Uh yeah, Fun? Hellz yeah!!!!
This game has a home here and a loving family. You would do well to join the family

Re: so?.....whats the thought?
For $50 I could come up with a laundry list of complaints.
For $12 I can't come up with one.
Edit: Well, except that it's going to take some getting used to not shooting at red tags.

Meh, not really worth even the $12.

Re: so?.....whats the thought?
All of the complaints I've heard are dealing with people not being able to play the game, lag, server stability ect. People who have played it awhile seem to enjoy it. If atomic can get a quick fix out I think the game will be fine.

Re: so?.....whats the thought?
I think the gameplay is just what TG is all about. If you have strong communication with your team, you will be very tough to beat. There's no running and gunning and lone wolfing in this game. Like mentioned about, for $12, I can't find anything to complain about. There are some issues, yes, but I'm sure they'll be dealt with quickly.

Re: so?.....whats the thought?
Seems like that is the majority opinion going on among those who have bought and played the game so far...
Yup... I think the biggest thing about this game right now is how long it will take for them to churn out fixes...
Idk what games you are talking about the come "broke"... BFBC2 worked fine for me on release. All the recent MMORPGs I have played worked fine as well (Aion, Warhammer, AoC, etc)....
Some will come with a few "bugs" but I don't consider that "broke" unless it actually prevents you from playing/enjoying the game...
I am hoping they fixe the game atleast to the point that more people are able to play it.

Re: so?.....whats the thought?
BFBC2 is still broke. No VoIP. I can't speak to Aion or Warhammer as I have never played them. But, AoC was broke on release (as told to me by my cousin who played the beta and several months after it went live). Even my beloved CoD series has been puking up broken or unpolished games since World at War, and up to their newest title, Black Ops.
I, for one, will no longer buy games on (or even near) release day, even if they are selling at bargain basement prices. I am going to start demanding finished games for my hard earned dollars. It's time that we, as passionate gamers, start flexing our collective monetary muscles by not rewarding companies for crapping out broken and/or poorly coded/thought out games. I also urge any and all TG members that are having problems with this, evidently, broken game to start posting on the developers forums, asking or demanding that the game be fixed ASAP.
Ok, I will get off from my soap box now. Carry on.

LOL.. I want a Survey as to who started shooting at the First RED TAGGED person they saw in the game.. I know I did... ;-)
I had issues with Forced minimizing my windows... And I really don't know why LEAN is so hard to do.. Seems that it should be in Every game (This ame would really rock and add to it's TACTICALNESS (??) if you could LEAN. Whats the technical difficulty there?|TG|ARMA Pathfinder

Re: so?.....whats the thought?
When redneck said they come broke, he meant "filled with bugs". Every single game you listed fits that description, and yes, I played them all on day one (or even before day one). BC2 had no voip (and still doesnt), the weapons were off-balance and the hitboxes were screwy (still are). Aion had a complete imbalance between elyos and asmodian, no side-bnalancing (as was promised), chat functions didnt work all of the time, skills and spells were bugged (some still are), and getting to the abyss? Forget about it. Warhammer had fewer bugs, but things like foreign chat spamming breaking the anti-spam measures, skill stacking, duping, etc were all there. AoC? Dont get me started on what that looked like at launch.
Yes, Breach has bugs. Its a direct console port and the developers are working very hard to sort out the issues. But you know what, for $12 or $20, the issues you're running into are relatively minor. All of the games you named were $50+ and had similar problems, but less complaining.
The bottom line is that the game has been out for one day, give it some time to sort itself out.

Re: so?.....whats the thought?
No Voip?.... That little problem seems mute to me since there are so many 3rd party programs already out there and widely used by players as has been pointed out continuously.
A game being "broken" vs "full of bugs" is completely different. I understand if someone misinterprets what others say but I just wanted to get the difference out there...
As far as what you wrote for Aion... I am guessing you are referring to imbalance in PvP in abyss (well guess what? not everyone participates in the PvP aspects so that is not the games fault... either get people out there or forget about it), I have never once seen a bug with chat, and as far as the abyss I was out there 24/7 slaughtering the opposing side...
Zenchi - Vaizel | Asmodian | Spiritmaster (2 1/2 months after release with full Fenri gear... ezpz)
From release to eventually leaving the game I didn't have a problem with it. Aside from nothing new to do at the current version of the game...
As far was WaR and AoC I only remember a couple things...
Less complaining...? If you read my previous one more carefully I was re-stating facts and other people's opinions on the game while trying to specify that there is a difference between broken and bugged...
Note: As far as I am concerned it matters not if you played it at Day 1 but did you actually play it to the full extent of the version of the game... and for those 3 titles, yes I did ^_^.

Re: so?.....whats the thought?
Actually, I wasnt talking about PvP in the abyss with Aion. When the game launched, you couldnt even GET to the abyss. Skills were bugged, spells were bugged, rifting was bugged (getting 150 people through a 30 person rigt? come on).
They didnt implement the 51/49 percentage balance between the factions and when they did, it broke the server and wouldnt allow any new character creation from either side.
On certain servers, if you were elyos, you couldnt even port in to Eltnen fortress without being insta-ganked. Thats broken. I played the game from the second beta round to 4 months after release and when they didnt fix it, I left. You probably didnt see as much because you were Asmo, which was the ridiculously overpowered and overpopulated side of the coin.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand...
