    What is your price limit?

Edit: On the assumption that "budget" means $1000 and under, have a look here. It's a nice dual-core AMD-based notebook with 2 GBs of RAM, HD2600 Mobility Graphics, a very nice black carbon gloss finish, and could be configured to be around $900 shipped.

Now that I think about it...the laptop above puts my computer to shame...poor computer... *pets computer top*

And that would be able to run CS:S and TG server?

Yes. It can easily handle most of today's games (with the exception of FarCry and Unreal 3).

I think it's a very good deal. Sure blows most mainstream notebooks out of the water at that price point.

It's got me so interested now that I even want one.

Edit: It seems the price has gone back up to $999. I still think it's a good deal.

I would pay the extra 44 bucks and get the faster 120gig hard drive, would improve load times and windows performace for gaming.

Bare does have a point. The 5400 rpm drives weren't a favorite of mines anyways (so slow).

Q: Do higher-RPM drives chew more battery? In a laptop that would probably matter.

yes and no... it only spins up to 7200 rpm when it is called for.. and when it is spinning faster, it loads faster, so it spins faster, but for a shorter period of time

Don't forget to check out notebookreview.com the discussion forums there usually will tell you how to get the best deals. I checked the lenovo subforums and the hot deals subforums and ended up getting the employee discount on a t61p ($1450 with a 3 year accidental warranty down from $2300).

I wish posters who say they are on a budget would at least post what the maximum amount they are willing to spend is. (not yelling at fasty, but it would help those who are helping the OP)

The faster rpm hard drives don't really eat that much more juice than the slower ones. It's not like your hard drive is spinning 24/7/365. It only spins up when you're reading or writing (usually only during loading sessions in games).
