Edit: I am also curious. Does the PC-155 headset actually do surround sound? I glanced at review that mentioned it so I wanted to get your input on it.

If you sound card supports EAX it is positional and I can definitly detect three dimensions very well (I play NS where good positional audio is probably your largest asset), but it does not have seperate speakers in each ear (like 5.1 or 7.1). I also have the USB sound card it came with which works suprisingly well and does support EAX.
Update: The 8800gts is eVGA.
