    I'm getting out of Minis combat and selling my set. It's basically the COMPLETE Prime Cryx set along with many many extras including some Cryx from newer eras. The Cryx "starter" set is also included and fully painted to professional quality... this starter set alone painted as such would be worth $300+ and represents around 100 man-hours of painstaking work using brushes the size of a single human hair and precision magnification. Even the Necrotite glows in the dark. Along with that most of the pieces have been pre-primed and mated to bases with ballast already glued. Some have also been partially painted. Realize also the amount of research, work, and money that went into construction of the terrain as well. Note: terrain structures are foam-filled for rigidity.

    Basically, for those that dont know Warmachine... they're w/o a doubt the highest quality wargame minis you can buy. Aside from that, the world is compelling (based on D&D's Iron Kingdoms) and the rules are the sleakest most well designed of most any minis combat system out there. They support quick 30 min. matches up to weeklong marathons. Combat is fast, furious, and exciting. I used to be in a League but had to quit due to job obligations, but it was extremely fun and the League still survives to this day.

    Man, brings back memories of Necromunda. If I had a spare room in my house for it, I'd get back into miniature painting in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, I have a backlog of about 50 miniatures

    That's my problem. Little to no room, no time, and a serious backlog of "minis waiting to be painted." In all honesty though, if anyone reading this has EVER thought about getting into minis. wargaming, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better setup than what I'm selling here. It comes with everything and you can play with a full army right out of the box, not to mention all the terrain you'd ever need. If you dont feel like painting em you dont have to because most are primed, based, and assembled already. The ones NIB I'm selling that are included are above and beyond the entire set... just to give more flexibility with Army size/points/makeup. (cryx are all about swarm tactics and arc nodes)

    And these things are NOT cheap. Some of these go for $30+ NIB (unpainted, unassembled). I've seen single Warjacks fully painted go for over $300 by themselves. I'd actually include my paints/brushes but that'd be like cutting off my left arm and selling it. One would have to make me an offer I couldnt refuse for those... all my stuff is the highest quality.

    Also, i forgot to add that all the painted minis are coated thinly with varying degrees of urethane for protection. I say varying degrees because for a nice vinyl/latex look for the Warwitch, etc. I'd use a shinier coat then say a bonejack. It's tough work.

    Shoot... I almost dont want to sell em

    No, I haven't. Most of my tabletopping occurred mid nineties when I was living in Ireland. Most of what I have done since has been painting some select fantasy minis from Rackham, GamesWorkshop, and Reaper. I'll have a cool setup when my son gets to a point of being able to participate in a DnD 4E campaign


    If your painting is making 7.5+ on cool mini then you may be able to sell them for a profit. Otherwise I've found that painting them is a liability that doesn't add value for most purchasers.

    My suggestion is to offer everything at fire-sale price on a more table-top friendly forum. You might get someone to pick up the whole army if you sell it at 10-20% off of retail prices. My fear is that you'd have to hit 30% before someone would go for the whole kit and kaboodle.

    Yah, I started collecting a few basic Reapers for DnD 4e... some of them are VERY nice. Typically I just chrome or gold them to make them look more like chess pieces.

    The paint I typically use is Folk Art Acrylic (mostly for metallics). They give more bang for the buck and have a longer history than mini-specific paint, along with a greater selection and ease of purchase. Then I use inks for certain areas and pens as well. I've got some more concentrated no-name paint also that I use for earth-toney detail work; I dont remember the brand. The key with Warmachine-Cryx is the metallics, and Folk Art is very good with this.

    But yah, I'll be posting this on another forum but I just wanted to give TG a shot at it. For the price I'm still taking a loss just based on what I paid for everything, not including my labor. This aint Games Workshop.
