Re: *looking*
98 ninja ZX6R... sweet bike...
AND it comes with a Muzzy exhaust/jet kit.. This one could go up to about 5G's, but it's a nice bike. Might be a little much "oomph" for a starter bike (specialy since you don't weigh a lot), but it's one you will not grow out of. I'll say this. I've had a ZX7, and loved it. you can wring the necks of the kawis and it is SO fun... they beg for it. If you have the money, and are SURE you want a fast bike, go for it. Otherwise, keep looking for something a little more friendly. just my .02... |

Re: *looking*
Well I dumped the idea of getting a 500, because i asked a few friends and they said that I would love the bike for only 2 months, 1 of which was my height and only 115lbs who currently owns a modified 600kat.
So I looked around and saw a 96 GSX Katana 750, only problem is that its in Laconia NH. Ever since I started looking for a bike everyone has said "Sometimes you need to go far to get a good bike/deal." So I did, 3hour commute to his house and the was a bute. Repainted jet black with crome lettering and pin striping. Sat down on it and fit me perfectly, at that point I said 2800 and the owner said sure. Thing has a great exhaust system, not super loud but has a Great Deep Thoat sound. Went through a list that a motorcycle machanic told me to look at and everything checked out. It also helped that the guy was a buisness man in his mid 30s with 2 kids and that usually means he didnt trash the bike doing all kinds of stuff to it. happy as hell. I will get some picks of it later. Thanks for all your help |

Re: *looking*
Kick Ass!
Congratulations! Don't forget the Motorcycle Safety Foundation Class. It's SO worth the money. Most accidents happen to someone who has a "new to them" bike, the class helps to raise awareness. Can't wait for the pics man! woot |

Re: *looking*
Still no camra, I'll make a good effort this weekend to get pictures taken.
Anyho, how do I tell if I need new sprokets and chain. I tried to get my bike inspected and he said I need new ones, looks fine to me. Trying to see if he is just pulling my "chain". Thanks, Emanon |

Re: *looking*
Chain should be kept well lubricated.
Try to spray it down with some chain lube every other tank of gas. There should be no more than an inch or two of "slack" or play in the chain when it's in good shape. If you have to tighten it too often (more than once a year) it may be stretching (bad) and need replacement. Sprockets should be fine for a good while if you keep up with the chain. Any damage would be pretty obvious on the rear sprocket, but the countershaft sprocket (front one) needs a bit of tinkering to look at. Again, as long as the chain stays well lubed and mostly tight (not too tight) you should be fine. Make sure you get the right kind of lube too.... o-rings or not. look up in the bike manual your kind of chain, and buy a can for that chain. And get yo ass to a friend with a digital camera man! ![]() keep the shiny side up, take a msf class! |
