selling computer
I was thinking of selling my computer, and wanted to start a sort of MOC Bidd. ID like it to be serious. Could you give me an estimate on how much it's worth, or atleast how much people would buy it for?
Contains:
AGP 6600GT 128, athlon XP 3200, 1GB RAM, case, cdRW, 200GB hard drive, 450 PSU and a few more stuff, like keyboard mouse

Re: selling computer
I'd say around $800 for a used PC with those specs...
Give a name brand for the PSU, DVD Burner, sound card, case, mouse and keyboard and the number could go up.Become a supporting member!

Re: selling computer
6600GT = $145 new
Namebrand 450 + case =~ $120 new
1GB ram = $85 new
CDRW*=$25 new
XP 3200 = OoP, 3000+'s ~ $100
200GB= ~$100
*$45 for DVDRW
So, in the strictest sense of the word, this PC Tower is only worth about ~$550. A PC-Savy person won't pay more than $600 for it, but you could probably get 7-800 up to $1000 if you caught the right buyer in something like a local newspaper posting.
In an auction (ala ebay) you won't get near value without a lot of flashy names, because people are building better spec'd generic PC's en masse and driving the price down on used machines.
