    So what do i need?

I bought myself CoD2 for chrimbo but have not yet really had a chance to play it. I was thinking about popping along one night and having a bit of a crack with you guys. I see that i will need the new maps, ill get on to downloading those.

What about mods? I have seen talk of WRM, Admiral, Extreme.... is there anything vital that i need to get before playing or will it be taken care of automatically?

Also etiquette for playing. I will of course observe usual TG common sense, but are there any game specific procedures or frowned upon actions?

Ive dug through most of the threads but cannot really find anything recent on these points. Apologies if this is covered elsewhere.

Welcome Jimmy. As Cadian said come join us on T/S. Check the forums as the maps that need to be downloaded are posted with links.

All TG rules apply to CoD as well. Here is the link to those. http://www.tacticalgamer.com/call-du...ncements-sops/

Good to have ya with us, Jimmy.
One essential rule: If there's someone with a sniper rifle, it's always Trooper.

    Yes so i noticed earlier....

I still have little clue as to what i was doing there, it was only ten minutes in to the session that i saw someone and got to fire my rifle at last(and died ). It took me a while to figure out that there was a seperate button for crouch rather than it being an up/down cycle. I also must have presented a slightly bizarre spectacle. I kept jamming Q every time i saw someone and consequently spent a lot of the time leaning left.

you will pick it up quick enough. I got the game this past friday, and got my wings right away. Even after all of that EVE I've been playing...

Well i thought i would have a crack at Cod2 because i would like a bit of variety but without the acquisition of another fiendish addiction. Think ill skip EVE. I only see myself spiralling into madness and degeneracy that way.

If you really want to give it a shot, I'll come over to your house and whack you in the head with a baseball bat. It's more or less the same experience

Its ok. Ive got more than enough people willing to do that already. I credit myself with single handedly affecting the stock price of sporting goods manufacturers with the level of annoyance i cause to those around....

Cool at least now i wont be the only clueless one on COD2.
Nope, ill be bumbling around in a keystone-cops-like way for some time to come.
