Weird Unbound fire key problem :-(
Hello gents,
I noticed yesterday that now whenever I restart the game my fire key and Melee/Steady Sniper Rifle key are both unbound. I think I remember Bone and maybe one other complaining of this issue. It started after I created a new profile and started playing around with key settings.
Anyone have info on this annoying problem, thanks in advance."Artillery lends dignity to what would otherwise be an ugly brawl."

I am digging into it and I guess reinstall would be a last resort. We shall see.

Re: Weird Unbound frie key problem :-(
i have the same problem with my graphics, it doesnt store my settings so i have to join the game and redo my graphics. Even creating another profile doesnt help, so gay
that sounds like a good idea trooper.

Re: Weird Unbound fire key problem :-(
I think I have the solution for the unbound keys.
After digging around in my CoD2 install directory I noticed that the server custom addons add folders with names like wrm, wrmtg, 82ndab, etc. Inside these folders is a folder named players and in there are folders for the profiles you have used on those servers. Most people will probaly only have one profile in the players folder. There are files named config_mp.cfg in each profile folder.
Example path - Drive:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 2\wrm\players\Redleg75\config_mp.cfg
In my case I noticed the line bind MOUSE1 "+attack" and bind SHIFT "+melee_breath" were missing in most of the .cfg files. I found one that did contain these lines and spread the love across all the server folder players' .cfg files. Since I have done this there has been no unbound issues.
I hope this isn't confusing and it helps those suffering from this pain in the arse :-)"Artillery lends dignity to what would otherwise be an ugly brawl."
